Yup - males have a lot of yellow and very little blue on the top side of their wings. Females have less much less yellow and much more blue.

Are there adverse health affects to being skinny?

Can you get someone to liposuck 10 pounds from me and inject it into you? Might benefit both of us and not take too long.

And old friend of mine managed a movie theater that was not the safest place in the world. One night he brought the security guard with him to some party. His nickname was "BIg D." The guy was really big and really strong. At one point, two guys were struggling to walk a full 1/2 keg down an open set of stairs from the roof. Big D walked over, grabbed the keg by its top and bottom and carried it across the room without ever putting it against his chest. Despite his size and strength, he had tried out for the Eagles and didn't make the team.

I had one of those old Sony 36" CRT TVs that weighed about 250-300 pounds in a bedroom that we needed to recarpet. Asked the big guy across the street if he would help me take it off the shelf and into the living room. He came in, told me (skinny guy at the time) to step aside, and just handled it.

Statistically yes, but I don't think I'm at that level yet and I am avoiding lots of morbidity with the preserved insulin sensitivity and healthy blood pressure which go with being skinny and extremely active. However, at my age there is also a danger of bones fracturing easily or becoming very frail with an acute illness or injury, due to loss of nutrition. That can shorten one's life radically.

Yes; now it’s the medal count between us and China. Don’t think for an instant that this isn’t political.

speaking of steering, are you going to steer your Honda to meet me somewhere convenient in Knoxville on Thursday at 4 PM?

I could bring you good tidings of great joy from Sharpsville.

Please advise.

Holy Moses, you mean you really don't think this rivalry between Russia, China & the U.S. is about political and physical dominancy? This is about more than just bragging rights, this is serious stuff, cold war type stuff. North Korea and Iran would like nothing better than to bolster their image on the world stage like the big boys.

DougRNS 07-27-21 02:39 PM

I like baseball and pie. Sue me

Well, obviously it's political in that the teams are drawn up along geopolitical lines. That doesn't mean there's not good sports drama.

You've spent too much time in the bear's den. You need a TV in there.

Ok, so that's a regular Black Swallowtail. The guy I saw today had orange markings near the tip of the topside forewings. I'm thinking a BS variant, but there's a chance it could also be another guy.

Giants, Eagles, and Bengals, apparently.

Players in the speed positions can be lean and light. I have ridden with 2 guys who played college ball at lineman positions. One of them raced crits as a cat 3. He didn't podium but he had fun. The other was told to try the velodrome where he did well. He raced @ 265. He was built a bit like Chris Hoy.

Summer woes -

Replaced an AC unit at home a few weeks ago to the tune of a big bill.

Last week the AC unit in the office next to mine stopped cooling to the tune of a relatively small bill.

Today the AC unit in my office has stopped cooling. I guess I'll get some sort of a bill for that tomorrow. :(

It's only 101 today. I guess it could be worse since it only "feels like" 108.

So, literally a blind ump.
