Ideas for integrating SC-MT800 into bar/stem?

Further to this post, I'm gonna step it up a notch and use one of these bad boys:

And I want to get one of these:

And gut it, with just the display visible on the stem. Charging port is deleted (charging via spare e-tube plug on shifter), and the button is remote, just under the back of the right hood. Gonna have to cut a hole in the clamp, where most stems have a big one (this one is blank there), for the wire to pass into the steerer... Was thinking maybe I could jam most of the A junction in there, with just the LCD on top with a bead of black silicone around it, with ribbon wire for the LCD twisted to go through a small hole...?

Seems pretty sketchy though, and so much depends on what I find when I cut the SC-MT800 open. Could use some ideas...

Seems to me the sketchy part is more what you will find when you cut into the stem/bar unit.

My suggestion is to get a second set of stem/bars and find out how strong the results might be (or not be...) after carving out a spot for the control unit. Andy

Maybe just 3d print another clamp to hold it to the bars in a more aero looking shape. Or eliminate what you can on it's backside and 3d a bezel to go around it and hold the bezel down with the tape you wrap the bars with.

You know that your Garmin device can give you that same screen and more if you have the wifi option. Maybe Wahoo and others do too. I set my top button on my STI's to let me control the screens shown on my Garmin 530.

I don't use a computer on my bike, but I thought a gear display would be nice... Gonna stuff an A junction in this thing one way or another, which means cutting a hole for it in the clamp and putting a little hole in the top at least for the LED on the normal A junction... Thought it might be possible to use the XT one without carving up the stem any more than that.

One thing that turns me off it though, even if I got it as slick as I hope, there'd be this blank bit on the right of the LCD for the unused suspension settings...
