First ride of the year!
 

Yesterday was my first ride of the year, really, of three years, with COVID precautions, loss of work bike project rabbit holes, et cetera! 2.75 miles, Dexter-Huron metro park MUP, very comfortable on the bike and easy riding at 11 mph. I “sprinted up the first hill” at about 15 and down at 18, then after that 30 seconds of glory slogged uphill at about 5 to the finish line (i.e. back of the station wagon) where Mrs. Road Fan helped me get the Trek into the car. Sore legs yesterday, but feeling a lot better today. Tomorrow will be another ride!

With all those bikes, you have a variety of rehab options available. :)

The older I get the more I enjoy not having snow and really really cold weather. <grin>

However glad you get to join us outside now! Stiff and sore legs just are telling you to get back on the bike and do some easy and long riding without showing off.

Takes one to know one!

So the Masi, Mondonicos, Trek 610, and Terraferma don’t need anything. I think chainstay dimpling is in the future for the Trek 610 and the 720, but the original plan was to transfer over the toury stuff to the 720, which is the same size and era (1982 720, 1984 610) so the parts should all be drop-in. So dimpling might be done for teh 720 instead of the 610. I also have my Woodrup back from alignment and some tricking-out, so it needs to go out to a paint shop. But except for the 610 rear derailleur (that’s maintenance), I want to finish reassembling the 1952 Rudge Aero Special and start riding it. If I really like it, I might try copying it if I take Doug Fattic’s frame class. I could further refine the Rudge, with an aluminum FM gear hub, which I have.

But at the end of all this, I could end up with the Terraferma, Woodrup, 720, and Rudge all as capable long-distance bikes. Possibly even the Mondonico ELOS, since I did some metrics on the other Mondo in past years. But we’ll see!
