Yeah, my wife is just not going to get in to road cycling - Dutch-style all the way. If I had the budget, I'd get her a Dutchie with assist.

I also really enjoy the different riding experience when I'm with her. I love going out for a couple hours riding fast and pretending I'm a real roadie, but an hour long ramble on a bike path where we stop all the time to take pictures is just delightful sometimes.

This reminds me that we need to get my wife a new helmet and I need to tune up her bike - the boy's bday is a week away, and one of the things that he wants is to go on a family ride. My wife hasn't ridden her bike since he was in the Burley.

One thing we can always count on is summer heat. Supposed to be 96 degrees here by next Thursday. A little early but we already had triple digits a few weeks back.

Anesthesia stash is depleted. 19th century surgical tools. So many problems . . .

Maybe I used up all of her blind trust when she got into an airplane with me on our second date :D

I meant "we" as in those of us on the left coast. You know, La La land. Besides, it isn't summer yet.

For a splinter, you just need sharp forceps that have some ridges in them. Easy peasy. If you don't have that, you can get away with a sewing needle.

This popped up today, and I could totally see her riding this with me. Now if I can only convince her.

Oooh, sweet C&V action! Not lugged though.

Amputation is always an option.

We used to have levers rather than round knobs to open the door. The cats would jump up and use their paw to pull on the lever to let themselves in.

We (in the chilly heartland) count too!

Surgery complete. I ended up using one of my hefty syringe needles. No post-op nurse to care for my foot. Sad.

Nice! Had that been Fed Ex, it would sit there until the promised day of delivery.

Fortunately stitches are not required. Or a bone saw.

FedEx would let you sit there waiting, and then turn the package over to USPS for delivery the next day.
