My girlfriend is now a big fan of CV, yours?
She rides a nice Litespeed Ti with a full 7800 group that i built 3 years ago. She had a CAAD 9 with Sora so she saw the confort of the Litespeed right away. I was into CV when we met so the seed was planted early on.
she now has a Biemmezzetta with friction shifting lol ! , a nice Fondriest and the latest a minty Raleigh Intetnational built with DA 7700 here it is https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...e018b59c26.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...8e23d8055a.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...0e74b8aa07.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...68a2a15c6b.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...a32f931ba1.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...beb7cfaf57.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...6df354afa5.jpg |

As soon as ia saw it, called my girl "u need to get here now" it was dirty and the chrome had surface rust. Paint and chrome came out amazing. She chose the 7700 group, based on period correct and her being a fan of all things Dura Ace (told you she was a CV fan) |
Sounds like a keeper.
Great job cleaning the bike up. Your girlfriend has good taste. Good match. Stay together. |
My wife has always liked C&V, because that is all we have ever owned. We met at the start of our freshman year at UCLA, and her first bicycle was my 1962 Bianchi Corsa. She didn't like my "toe traps" and drop bars, so I set her up with regular Peugeot UO-8 style "rat trap" pedals and UO-18 flat bars, with Schwinn Twin Stik stem shifters. I subsequently built the red UO-8 from a bare frame, with TA Professional cranks, aluminum rims, and my old SunTour V-GT derailleur, and the same flat handlebars. When she became too intimidated by traffic, she discovered trail riding and gravel grinding on my Schwinn Project KOM-10 mountain bike, so I had to build her a mountain bike. :)

I can probably only get my wife out a dozen times a year, and so I've built her several bikes over the years. At 5'2" and wanting upright, I see the issues Grant Peterson discusses about too steep of seattube angle. The only two she's really liked were a SuperV-esque xs Cannondale hybrid and, go figure, a way too big theft-recovery Rodriguez Stellar I built with 26x38 instead of 650c.

I hope so, because I’m building her this
https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...eafcb0eae.jpeg still waiting on pedals and new tires. |
My girlfriend is now a big fan of CV, yours?Mine refuses to ride. We made a deal that she would go riding with me if I would go to some wineries with her. Shortly after that, she had another bout of seizures and now she is scared to get on a bike. I cannot really blame her though. It must be weird to lose control of your body. |

Ms. merziac is somewhat of a fan, she has several bikes, doesn't ride much and is not a fan of "the pile" that comes with this rabbit hole. :roflmao:
Her Paramount https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...3fd111a2b7.jpg And Moto GT that is still waiting to be made upright, did already move the shifters to the stem. ;) https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...538b0b9c45.jpg |
Can we see the Fondriest? My Wife has one, nearing &V status (2003) that she has just retired, so I guess you can say she is C&V! Don't see a lot of bikes by Maurizio in the US! about half CF, but one of the most gorgeous bikes I have ever seen,

Mrs non-fixie has always liked cycling, but was more than happy with her "omafiets". Not much interest - if any - in the old stuff I was into.
Until she visited L'Eroica in Gaiole with me, eight years ago. She wanted to get in as well, but realized she didn't have an appropriate bike. :( So I got her one. :) Since then she's been to one who's been chasing after tickets to the nicest C&V events. Successfully, I might add. These days her bikes are as nice as - if not nicer than mine. She even learned to take proper pics. Plucked this one off her FB page: https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...054c447001.jpg |

My wife is a huge CV fan owning a ‘85 Wilier Ramato, 80-something Colnago Super, mid 80’s Bianchi and an early 90’s Pinarello Treviso as well as two carbon racers a Colnago Mapei, Schwinn Varsity, Specialized Diverge and a SOMA touring bike. She has always had me beat in the N+1 contest. And she ain’t hard to look at either…..😎 |

Building my wife a Bottecchia Cro Mor from a frame that a generous C&V regular gave me. She rode with me for many miles in the 70’s and 80’s and now it’s time to return her to our vintage 10 speed roots👍.

Gorgeous Raleigh OP!
My girl dabbles. She has a Tommasini Tecno Extra with Record/Daytona 9. She also had a Specialized Tarmac but preferred the Tommy (and who could blame her?) so I sold it out from under her. She also rides a Ross (gifted by rccardr) parts bin build for commuting. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...0f540accb.jpeg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...7746f065c.jpeg |
Ive built a couple road bikes up for my wife...then sold em as they didnt fit well.
She rides a 5 year old Cannondale Synapse and loves it. Rides used to be 25-50mi, but now they are at/under 20mi or so. Last fall I did build a 1x9 drivetrain Trek 930 MTB for her that fits really well. Not really c&v, even though its very dated. |
