Music Status?

Finally, a topic for all our off topics!

What are you listening to? What did you listen to while on the trainer? On the road? So on and so forth.

today: rage against the machine, slipknot, B.I.G., Immortal technique, mastadon.

"Pulse of the Maggots" (Slipknot) got me through my last interval.

Today the playlist consisted of Minus The Bear, Jawbreaker, Dinosaur Jr, The Replacements, and Titus Andronicus. It was a good playlist. I've been really in to this band Russian Circles while doing straight tempo rides. Its like...instrumental sort of hardcoreish stuff. Really really good if anybody is in to that sort of thing.

Yeah, interesting is a really good word for them. Relatively technical, and can go from really airy sort of spacy sections to great breakdowns really quickly.

I live in Derby, like 15 minutes outside of New Haven.

One of the bands on my 'playlist'....Nailbomb. Side project by Max Cavalera (soulfly/sepultura) and peligros (drummer from Dead Kennedys)...any of you guys who like heavier stuff need to check out the album 'point blank'.

euphoria 03-25-10 07:00 PM

all i've been listening to is flying lotus - cosmogramma

fav. album of all time is mogwai - happy music for happy people

for riding, underground hip hop is my bread and butter

ridethecliche 03-25-10 07:03 PM

What kind of underground stuff?

Atmosphere and aesop rock are on my list, as are blockhead and sixtoo.

Currently, Fatboy slim and infected mushroom.

ridethecliche 03-25-10 07:05 PM

terrible at dropping names on the fly, but on the mp3 player I have guilty simpson remixed by oh no, jedi mind tricks, ras kass, a few compilations, curren$y, nas remixed by 9th wonder, madlib, one be lo, oddissee, slick rick (not underground), strong arm steady, souls of mischief, three 6 mafia (old school)

blockhead is amazing

bmxsykes 03-25-10 07:11 PM

Damn, this is a hip thread! I personally can't ride with music though. So far this thread would be a great mix for the pub afterwards.
