9th bike obtained. It's in great shape, has nearly all its original 6297 and 6208 bits. Will still need disassembly, cleaning, etc. but it's actually rideable at the moment. I have to decide what to do with about the original 1985 'Bernard Hinault' model Turbo saddle. I think it's restorable, but I have to look up how.. The seller had replaced the original 6207 brakes with 7401 Dual Pivot brakes, and someone prior to that had replaced the 6207 non-aero brake levers with later aero levers. I also bought, on a whim, a pair of 6209 aero levers, which I might use. If I get 6207 or 6208 levers, there's the perennial problem with lever hoods. The as-yet unanswered question - do I care?

I was at an gathering of the olds. Sat down at a table with some people for lunch. I didn't know them, but my dad did. It was a beautiful day here just under 80 degrees and we had a nice mtb ride. Not technical but lots of climbing both ways. My friend stayed with me for a lot of the climbs because we were talking but she did go ahead a few times like I knew she could.
I don't know if anyone here remembers BF member Ovoleg but I saw him up there today. He rode with my road club on and off for years but I haven't seen him in a long time. I didn't know he had a mountain bike and apparently he has a girlfriend, too. It was good to see them. I have some old pics from the area. This is called Eagle Rock.
