I don't think I could pick any favorite single songs. It was a magic time to live through with a lot of wild stuff happening daily and also that thing going on over in SE Asia. Exciting and scary times, both. Glad that I lived it and yes, I do remember it.

Tell it like it is.

It could be worse--imagine graduating in the '70s.

'66 here, just when the music was starting to go off the chain.

I plead the 5th.

I don't see any Temptations on your list. I would be bringing some Ball of Confusion with me, but that's before ol Velo Vol's strict timeline.

IKR

Don't get me started debating which was better, the 60s or the 70s. Insane amount of great music.

They were just warming up in '66, didn't get hot enough to push any body else off the list. But when they did, oooooh brutha!

Flat rear tire on the trainer bike.

I wouldn't turn down an invite like that. Hell, I'd even study my "port" and "starboard."

Our station BITD was WLS - Chicago. This was during their golden age of playing the newest stuff. We spent many weekend afternoons sitting in the parking lot of the local Piggly Wiggly waiting for mom to do the grocery shopping (note that she didn't bring us in with her).

Why not?

rjones28 04-08-20 11:51 AM

Fun fact: WLS was originally started by Sears, Roebuck & Co. to create demand for radios they sold. The call letters stood for "World's Largest Store".

We have a couple of tasty ports in our sideboard. :)

Found it. Pinprick leak on rim side about 1cm from valve. Will check to make sure no burr inside rim, but I am guessing stress near valve from pump head.

Yes, I even enjoy the 50s and 80s.

Indeed. I've recently decided to shifted my philosophy to "run what you brung," but in a physiological sense. My w/kg at FTP isn't great, it's never going to be great, and because of that I'm just not going to be that guy that's first up the hill among relatively strong club riders. So I'm just not going to focus on that as much and I'm going to play to my relative strengths, instead. Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to neglect my weakness, but I'm not going to let the FTP fetishism rule my recreation.

I enjoy ports, but I only ever drink them by way of glögg. I should change that.

Sometimes when my mom or sister were clothes shopping, I stayed in the car, because that's dumb.

For those keeping score at home, waxed Chain #1 is just under 400 miles and hasn't been touched yet. It's definitely not dead silent any more, though, and I might swap it out for Chain #2 after another ride or two. Drive train is still nice and clean, 'specially considering the gross spring conditions.
