That sounds awful. What's involved in the rehab, is it PT?

Well it was going to be a combination of chiropractics and physiotherapy, but the cost was too high. Then I remembered the system that got me out of low back pain in the past, and decided to jump back into that. Foundation Training, based in Santa Barbara. I was doing it daily for a long time, and then stopped, for unknown reasons. To my detriment.

My folks grew up in Quincy IL on the Mississippi, at Lock and Dam #21. My grandfather always likes to talk about how maintenance divers at the dam would pretty regularly see gigantic catfish below it.

There were reports from divers inspecting the bridge piles in STL seeing the same thing when I lived there.

I cleaned everything and reassembled it and it feels like an almost brand new bike :). The ceramic coating is wild, it makes the paint feel incredibly smooth and visually it looks like another clear coat was applied. Covers up small scratches and for my bike I feel like it deepened all the colors plus made them more vibrant.

Also have a new Praxis crank and BB on the way :bday: I really wanted the Zayante-S but they were out of stock in everything but a 48/32. Ended up with an Alba with 52/36 chainrings in 175mm. I almost bought an R8000 crank in 50/34 that we had at the shop but in thinking about my power meter options the most affordable ones would require me to send the left arm out for a month or so, plus aesthetically I'm not the biggest fan of that crank. The Praxis option was significantly cheaper and it will give me a good option for adding a power meter in the future without any downtime. It also looks really cool.

Should be here next friday!

Put the BBinfiniti Ceramitech BB on the Domane last week. Also 12/14T jockey wheels with ceramic bearings.

No more clicking noises and very smooth BB, and shifts seem a bit more crisp after one 30 mile ride.

Might be my imagination though. More time in the saddle will tell.

It was 98 degrees F today. Tomorrow promises more of the same.

Right. Their Worlds rides are like 4 am....

We took a short trip to Great Barrington MA last night for dinner and a comedy show. Didnít get home until 1, so I didnít get to ride before the snow started this AM.

it was a nice little town, looked like some awesome riding terrain in the area.

My wife is out there as we speak, visiting her sister who's recovering from covid. She keeps telling me about the mild weather and calm breezes lately, but I've never experienced that on any of my visits. lol

Stopped there on tour last September. Itís the home town of W. E. B. Du Bois.

Started that morning in E. Otis, MA. MA 23 to the east is a nice road. Getting into Hillsdale, NY on a Sunday afternoon was a bit hairy at times.

I ate lunch in GB at the edge of a shopping center parking lot. The business next door was playing 60s and 70s music outside, and a lot of older, hippie looking people were coming and going. Thought it might be a recovery/treatment place. Looked it up on my phone. It was a recreational pot store.

If you get a chance, the Harlem Valley Trail a bit south of Hillsdale is paved and really nice. A guy I know rode it the day before I did and had to stop to let a bear move away.

I sometimes feel silly if the solution is a simple word and I've 'wasted' a guess on something more exotic, but I think there's no reason to believe that there's any greater likelihood the solution is a common word than something more obscure.

That's what I tell myself, anyway. I think it was Thursday's, though, that was embarrassing - I got down to *atch after 3 clues, and I ended up not getting it at all, using all my remaining guesses on *atch words like match, patch, and batch. You'd think someone who collects them would have thought "WATCH" first, but no.

I donít know about that. Today was at least the second time I went for the exotic word over the pedestrian one and ended up with a 4 instead of a three.

I went with watch the other day because I thought they would throw in a different pronunciation than latch, patch, etc.

I shaved BITD (1980’s) but not since. Too lazy. It’s about 50/50 among my friends.

Daughter from LA flying home today for a week of spring break. She is coming home to unpleasant winter weather but the warm snuggles from Jackie should still make the trip worthwhile for her.

Hopefully not any individual friend. That would be weird.

We had 11ļ this AM and the winds are in the teens. I'm tired... really tired of it and April is generally no picnic, either, with the dampness and wind. Temps aren't generally that great, either.

Is this a first?

We have 50s in the forecast for next week. Just about time for me to shear the winter growth.

I was hairless for 15+ years and I kind of miss it. Feels nice.

Now, after 30 months of anti-testosterone injections, I don't have to worry about shaving. There is virtually none there anymore.

I'm glad I no longer live in the frozen tundra and the lake effect snow belt. It'll be in the 60's and 70's here next week.
