I work with a guy that developed that bedbug cooker that you are supposed to put your suitcase in when you get home. It stays outside, and heats everything up to bedbug killer temperature. His wife is a bug professor at CSU, and he gave me the scoop on what to do. .

Smart man.

The Surly is getting a new chain and cassette today.

Thanks for the Hotel opinions.....

Here is the backstory on drive to Asheville. We have an AirBnB from Saturday-Saturday. Check in time 3PM. I recently learned we are closing the office early that Friday at around 1PM, so it struck me we could break the trip into two and leave around 2PM and drive for 5, rather than leave early on Saturday. I am going to ask the Air BnB if we can come a day early, which might be best...then we could check in on Friday night. The hotel research has made me reconsider the two-step trip and we may end up just driving on Saturday if early check-in not an option.

How hot is that? you think average June-August Phoenix temps would do? :)

The worst one I've been in was on the outskirts of Reno.

I had to go look it up. Motel 6 Reno - Livestock NV. Never go there :)

I can't be certain, but 120 degrees seems to be what I remember. So, a box in the sun in the middle of the yard should do it!

Raise your hands if you're tired of gusting wind.

I've been to two of the Clevelands, that I remember (TN, OH).

Mojo31 04-11-22 10:13 AM

Been to one. Don't care if I never see another.

Also, tired of wind, gusty or otherwise.

I’ve stayed in 2. Youngstown, OH, and Clarion, PA. They were both decent. The rooms had clearly been remodeled recently.

I rode through Cleveland, OH, crossing the country. Decent place.

surprisingly I have never had bed bugs. I have seen one in my time at the airlines. Thank god it must have been left behind or something but I have personally never been bit by bed bugs.

I have been bit my spiders multiple times.

Wind makes power. Embrace it. No other way to keep the EV rolling.

I'm surprised I haven't either, being a huge fan of cheep motels.

Some of my coworkers check the bed, I don’t even bother. If the luggage rack isn’t already set up my bag goes on the floor.

bampilot06 04-11-22 10:36 AM

Noticed something today. Zero wind condition, flat ground I was putting out 140 watts at 96 rpm and was holding 18 mph.

Seems crazy that when I go harder and my power increases by 100 watts I only go 3 mph faster.

Just an observation, today I was really trying to keep the zone power at 2. Made hills take forever.

Wut?

I just plug it in. I don't need any wind to do that!

Seriously, there is also electricity produced by solar, natural gas, coal, steam turbines (nuclear and other), water turbines, etc. Less than 10% of electricity generation comes from wind.

I listened to a podcast back in 2009 about bedbugs. Essentially, it said that if you get them, burn your house down with all of your contents. I assume that means your cars, too.

Burn it with fire is the answer to all of life's problems.
