I just commented on a necro thread. Oops. Had to double back and delete it.

Wait is it necro or zombie? Inquiring minds want to use the best term.

No bike was needed. I know what my bike looks like, and it would mess up the picture.

The presence of the grassy strip in the foreground already did that. Totally messes up where the eye wants to go.

I was trying, to some extent, to get the full front. Couldn't get too close.

It's necro if you go back and post in it. if enough people do it, it reanimates. then it's a zombie.

cropping is your friend.

Saw the highlights of both the men's and women's Paris Roubaix. Looked like a really hard day on the bike. the pros are proper tough. even the women's race average speed is about as fast as I can sprint.

Do restraining orders ever expire?

I swapped out the 120mm ITM stem on the Bianchi for a 110mm Zipp, and took it for 55 miles today. Amazing what one little cm can do. The Bianchi had been my longest reach, but now it's right in the middle. When I got it 14 years ago, it had a 130mm stem, which I rode with for a bit, but I'd get some lower back pain after long rides. So I got a 120mm, and that went away, and I rode it that way for 14 years. But I'm not under 50 anymore. But I figure giving up 1 cm of reach after 14 years ain't TOO bad!.

And it was true! It was comfier enough that I didn't feel stretched out at all.

The bike handling alone was a thing to behold. Both days.

That's what cropping is for.

genejockey 10-03-21 07:16 PM

e.g.:

Original picture. Note extraneous crap in frame.

Same picture, with extraneous crap cropped out. Taking the picture from far away also avoids the fisheye effect.

I gotta say, that is a very lifeless snapshot. Not going to win any awards.

It was a quick snap taken during a ride. It's not meant to use on a brochure.

I watched the highlight reels. There was one clip of one of the women handling a two-wheel slide like a boss. And a lot of other clips of men and women riding along and the bike just sliding out from underneath them. Dropped on your hip on rough stones. OUCH!

You could also level it. Unless the building itself isn't level? Do patients roll from one end to the other if not properly tethered?

Still extraneous crud in the shot. What crop won’t get, clone tool will.

Oh, I post one photo and suddenly all the photography critics come to life.

And it goes without saying that, with Rango's long Greyhound snoot, fisheye effect is all too easy to get. E.g....

I wanted to see the dairy, not the bike. Maybe mix in a few cows.

the dairy is probably a processing center and tanker trucks deliver raw milk from afar. Cows are also afar.
