NOS: Show Me Your New Old Stock
I received this with a bike that I bought recently. The owner needed a long cage derailleur for the cogs he wanted to use.
Anyhow, I am pretty sure that some of you have some new parts from back in the day... Let's see them https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...35c344b692.jpg |

I feel very lucky to have snapped up this NOS vintage Legnano cottered crank set, complete with bottom bracket and for a very reasonable price. The crank and bottom bracket are now part of my longest owned and favorite vintage road bicycle...

hmmm.... I've got about 30 pounds of SunTour cogs, but that's hard to take a picture of.
How about shots of the Mavic MA-2 and MA-40 rims that are waiting to get used? (shown next to a built wheel, just to provide some scale or contrast or something) https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...21caad6b49.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...5d10b6c35b.jpg Steve in Peoria |

I've kinda lost track of what stuff I've got, and just remembered that I've got a pair of oak soled Dettos still in the box.
They fit me, and I actually ordered a more conventional pair of Dettos. Unfortunately, the vendor was out of the plainer shoes and offered to substitute the oak soled versions. Lovely shoes, but too lovely to use. I can't bear the thought of gouging those pristine oak surfaces! https://live.staticflickr.com/5022/5...c2621d_c_d.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/5221/5...4ee0e0_c_d.jpg I've got a few other pairs of vintage shoes that I use, so these Dettos just get dusty in the closet. Sunshine Pro-Am hubs, high flange. Date code 1975. Box has patina, and on the lid someone wrote “$34.95 / pair”.

I picked this up for an old build. Sold the bike, but still have this.

About 10 yeas ago I answered an ad on Craigslist from a guy who was looking to trade a bike he had for a Cinelli Supercorsa. I didn't have a Cinelli Supercorsa but I was interested to see what he was offering up for trade and maybe I could just buy it off him.
It turned out his English was pretty poor and he in fact had 3 Cinelli Supercorsas and he was looking to sell! I immediately met up with him at his storage unit and it was like entering Alladin's cave----he had owned a bike shop in the '70s and '80s and had a lot of bikes and many boxes of parts. He showed me some Colnagos and a couple of French bikes and of course his Cinellis but he only had 2, so I asked where the third one was and he pulled out a box and it was a NOS silver one from 1985 that was still in the wrapping paper, never built up, never even had a wheel in the drops. I bought it and a couple of other things, including an old Campagnolo workstand from the 1960s that is completely useless but is kind of neat to look at I would have bought everything but I just didn't have the money at the time I still haven't built it up, lol Sorry about the photobucket, I can't find any other pictures of it right now https://i1243.photobucket.com/albums...n/cinelli1.jpg https://i1243.photobucket.com/albums...n/cinelli2.jpg |

I've been saving the pedals and shoes since '81 or so; looks like I briefly wore the brown shoes:

Forgot about these, NOS Mavic SSC SL rims from a CL ad for "old tubular rims".
The guy said he had some unbuilt tubular rims and, on a whim, I asked him what he had. He mentioned these, I thought maybe they were fake (I have come across fakes twice, neither time did the buyer seem aware that they were fakes) but, nope, I measured the width by placing a GP4 rim inside them and, yep, and they are the real deal. I bought all 4 of them for $35 each, three are 28h and one is 36h. https://i.imgur.com/UPdWB0C.jpg |
I don't have the kind of will power that would allow me to leave those in their box. I'd nail some cleats on them in no time. My vintage bikes may have a lot of patina, my jerseys may be sun faded, but those shoes would make me the envy of the Rapha/Assos crowd! Brent |

Nothing earth-shattering, but I do have a couple of nice freewheels and a set of wide-ish polished box section rims.
