If only there were a bot for handlebar wrapping.

I've been paid to build wheels.

Not yet. These wheels wouldn't exist if I didn't build them:

Also another vote for buying the Fulcrums.

I'm going to be replacing the rims on the Holdsworth. I'm kind of nervous doing the work since they are 20°F/24°R. I've never built anything with that low spoke count before.

it's just faster. I just finished rebuilding the carbon wheel that failed on me. Once I was able to retrieve the nipple that fell inside the rim, it took like 20 minutes. I kept thinking, you missed something... you had to, that was too fast.

That may be true with amateurs but a hand built wheel done by a competent builder will be superior to a machine built wheel.

It's funny, after all the wheels I've destroyed I had 20/24 spoke Cole wheels on the Seven when I bought it and the rims didn't crack. Broke a couple spokes but kept riding them until I broke the freehub body. If I could find a freehub body I would like to use them as back-up wheels, despite the low spoke count.

YESSSS! I'm back on Zwift! Did the calibration and 30 minutes. Felt easier somehow. Graphics are improved. Cooling system is better also, fan is now in front of the stand.

There should be. If there was a Henry Ford to automate bicycle manufacturing, prices would be more reasonable.

OMG it's raining cats and dogs out there!

And just after it started I remembered I'd left the window open on minivan #2 the other day. And I had a battery charging in the garage and a mostly dead battery in the car. I was cursing as I put on a flannel and my rain shell imagining lugging batteries to and fro, and dealing with the PITA side mount terminals because I don't have a ratcheting 8mm end wrench.

I got lucky though because the dead battery in the van had just enough juice to sloooowly roll the window up.

how much is a restored, lightly used and regularly serviced one going for? buy that not the parked porker. it'll be cheaper in the long run.

You can usually get a runner that's not very pretty for $3000-3500.

This one's asking 2500, has a battered fender, so not all that interested, bit still mildly, maybe if he'll take $1000...

WhyFi 12-09-21 08:47 PM

I dunno, LesterOfPuppets - that win by a FG isn't lookin' too good right now.
