Do you know the route? The posters mention climbing, which becomes more difficult on a '73 Raleigh Pro!
I would likely ride to the Church St start and peel off for home near San Dimas. Looks fun. |
I was told there is very little climbing , Some easy sloping uphills .Ill check with Bert .

The poster that mentions climbing was for the ride that took place in May.

I'm debating between this ride and the Arroyo Fest in Pasadena area. Should be great weather this weekend.

Wonderful group ride this morning. I started from home and rode the fourteen miles to the start.
The fellas turned off Route 66 for the coffee stop. Good for me, cuz I'm already home watching football! Let's see...Manny, Phil, Dario, Jesse, Bert, and Pinarello man! See y'all next time! ~Fred |

Fantastic weather for the Sunday ride , Couldnt have a more perfect day to get out there on the roads and hangout with some good friends. The Pace was Brisk , no punctures ,and no one got lost as it was a straight shot to the Cafe . The coffee and waffles were great . Always a pleasure riding with the Vintage crowd . Dario went full Vintage riding with his Chuck Taylors AllStars.

I'm staying in Alta Loma for the holidays. Hope to stretch my visit long enough to make the New Year's Eve ride. Manny I'm pretty sure we did some Chevrolet/L.A.S.D. training rides together some 30 years ago- San Dimas or Chino.

So the weather is going to cooperate for the ride tomorrow , looks like Slightly cloudy with only a 10-12% chance of rain in the mid 50's .
End the year on a Vintage Bike Ride ! |
Looking forward to joining the Inland Group
I run the Camellia City VLCC in Sacramento, CA and I have been trying to ride with all of the California vintage groups. Looking forward to checking off the Inland Empire group on tomorrow’s ride. Brought my 1986 Miyata 912 for the ride. It will subsequently be gifted to my nephew who I am working on bringing into the fold.

The Rancho Cucamonga Vintage Ride / End of The year Ride was A blast. Fun times were had by all and the cool dry weather made for an Excellent ride . The Mid Ride Pit Stop at the Railside Cafe was very enjoyable.
Carl From Oregon was in attendance as well as Albert from Sacramento ,Both were here for the Holiday Season and it was Great to have them along with us down here in SoCal. A BIG thank You to You both for joining Us. We had a couple of carbon bikes join us (as all bikes are welcome except EBikes) , but the Vintage Bikes ridden today were top notch , American, Italian, British, and Japanese Steel were in attendance. Tim with the custom made for him Made in Downey California, Wolf , Carl with his killer original purchased Daccordi , Bert on his beautiful Celeste green DeRosa , Phil with his immaculate Medici which he refers to as his Junk Bike , Dave on his yellow cool Guerciotti, Albert rolling on some fine Japanese steel Miyata, Me on my Super Rare one of a kind unobtainable expertly Britishly chromed Meteor with the crappy seat ,Don his beautiful Fuso. and two guys on modern carbon who will only be named once they show up on Steel .LOL The ride moved along at a pretty good pace and a few hard accelerations kept things interesting. Heres a few pictures of those in attendance . https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...cf76385f87.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...3e74e07ea0.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...d6de740ab4.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...6c2b403d18.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...238f040c2c.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...50144c337d.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...80b39a8e1b.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...524e1ec95d.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...739b513608.jpg |
