So I have been averaging 17 hrs a day at work, 3 hrs of sleep a night and worked for 19 straight days, and have had 2 rides over the last 3 weeks of minor miles. So I logged off at 3 pm today and since we have a tropical wave off the coast producing wind and rain, I decided to ride inside, and because I am stupid; blew up my legs with some climbing on Rouvy, the last 2.4 miles and 535 ft were relentless. 37.5 miles and 4400 ft.

The dog walk is not going to go well tonight.

1.5 times up Alpe díHuez. My son rode 1/2 way upÖ took him down to mom at the bottom and went back up.

My neighbor and his wife flew out today for 2 weeks to the Lombardy region of Italy. His wife is going over for some work thing to Milan for a week, so he is going to ride, then they are going to go up into the alps for a week and ride up there and around Lake Como. I asked him to roll by the Pirelli plant and pick me up some tires....LOL.

How does the top tube bag attach? Bolts or straps? And are you happy with it and how big is it?

The top tube bag in attached with screws. There are two sets of holes that allow a 19mm shift of the top tube bag. They are located forward of the slots for straps. The frame bag straps loop into slots under the top tube bag. Or one can loop the straps to hold on the top tube bag and frame bag. For me I can use both bags on my Domane which does not have top tube bag mounts. Tailfin designed it that way. I asked them if the frame bag can be attached with screws like the Trek/Bontrager bag does. Nope. But it works better that way as the frame bag comes off and goes on more easily if I don't need it.

I have the flip top bag. It is easier to get into than a zipper bag for me. The zipper on my previous cheap Amazon bag broke after 5 years. Buuut in cross winds the flip top can be blown closed. I got used to it.

Top Tube Bag. I have the 1.1L flip top bag. See diagram on the specific bag link.

Tailfin Frame bag fit notes. They have a tool to fit a bag from the a picture of your bike. It is close but not on. It looked like their 4.5L half frame bag would fit but from the dimensions and the cut out it was a little too long. I went with the 3.8L half bag. The 3.5L wedge frame bag may have worked for the 2L bladder and left room for a taller water bottle.

62 miles, 7950’ of climbing - Cat 1 and an HC.

Col d’Ornon

Col De La Croix De Fir - this climb was a beast.

Woke up with a very sore knee, legs felt ok, knee not so much. Yesterday during the ride inside, I had this really annoying creaking, thought it was the seat post, so I popped it out and put a little grease on it, found it was the pedals. However, I noticed today, that I had my post up about 3mm too high.....so I lowered it, and thought I would take a flat ride for 35.... after 18, knee pain was just too much, so figure I better stay off the bike for a couple of days and I popped 800mg of motrin, the official do it all drug of the US Military, it will fix everything wrong with you.

WaveyGravey 06-22-24 11:55 AM

33 miles on an early morning ride.

Leggow 06-22-24 12:11 PM

I rode 25 miles on my road bike today. I had planned for a longer ride, but the wind and hills really wore me out. How was your ride today?

Oye vay. 😂. Yes, I enjoy running into fellow cyclists, and especially my neighbors. (Thatís why I always wear protective pads and a full face helmet.) What are friends for? If you are ever out this way, I will make it a point to run into you too!

Full Speed Ahead? That's the only way to run into someone!

83km on a rather damp Sunday morning, so I took my gravel bike (which has fenders) rather than my road bike (which does not).

WaveyGravey 06-23-24 08:42 AM

Today my daughter and I rode 24 miles.

Back on the bike after a brief respiratory illness, only 13 miles but no reason to push it. Last rode 12 days ago. Trail was a little muddy in spots, slinging mud off the wheels. Hosed it down afterwards. Tested out the new 11-34 cassette, gotta work on the high gears with rear derailleur, won't go into 11T sprocket. Everything else was fine.

Did a very hot 20 miles today. Avg speed 12.9mph, not bad for a hot day with hills.

ofajen 06-23-24 04:37 PM

Iíve been riding the drop bar bike more for the last ten days or so, since I replaced a worn out rear tire and got new wheels with wider rims. Last Friday I also installed a new Shimano single speed freewheel and undished the new wheel as needed to correct chainline.

So, with all the heat, Iím cycling more and just running intervals a couple times a week. Today was a typical 23 mile relatively hilly route with 1000í of climbing on hills you notice when riding single speed. Good times. 👍

49 miles, 2400ft of climbing. I had been on vacation so this was my ride since the 9th. I was slow but thought it went pretty well for having been off the bike for a while.

rsbob 06-23-24 08:20 PM

A good day on the bike. Mid to high 60s (sorry suffering cohorts) and a bit gusty with a complete cloud cover. Rode 36 miles in 2 hours, 1,200í at a bit over 17 MPG ave. Oh, and 41 PRs.

Gas powered is kinda cheating, I think? 🤔
