I don't keep record of my crashes when cycling. I only remember the one where cars hit me or that were particularly embarrassing. I can remember a total of about 8 crashes in about 20 odd years of cycling. There were probably more. I have done the clipless fail possibly more than twice. Both I can remember were at red lights. in peak hour traffic. One I ended up sticking my arm out straight: that resulted in a radial head fracture. The other one the only thing injured was my pride.

If I forget gloves, I will crash. Fact. Guess what I forgot when I rode with Velo…… |

Maybe 45° if there's a drizzle. 40-ish if dry. I'll sometimes do an hour ride in 35 and sunny sans gloves.
P.S. :( |

Yes. That's my camera. I had it under control, but slowed down too much and got body slammed from the rear.

There was a guy in our club who raced @265 pounds and was as high as 280 when I rode with him. He played offensive guard in college and was massive. I was following him on the road and a smaller guy to his left bounced against him on some bad pavement. The big guy just flicked his elbow out and the other guy went down.
That's how us big fellers roll! |

Flooding expected tonight, with rain starting this afternoon. Guess I picked a bad day to go back to work.

Crashes?....what are those?
my best was on a road with a steep incline at a hywy junction. On the way up I shifted down to the small ring, but the derailleur didn't shift due to the massive amount of force I was exerting climbing in the big ring. Near the top of the incline I let up a little on the pressure. The derailleur took that opportunity to throw the chain off to the inside. When that happened all my weight went forward over the bars, which which then flipped full right, and down I went. Left knee onto the spokes of the front wheel, stretching 2 of them so bad I had to loosen the cable on the brake . Broke my shifter, and crankset too. |

In case anyone is wondering, I am 14 hours out from Moderna #3. Arm is medium sore, and overall feel midly-to-medium crappy. I am hoping this will resolve during the day. I would say the strength of the reaction is about 50% of #2, and coincidentally the dose of the shot was also 50% of the first two.
