That is some serious 80s aero goodness right there. Thanks for posting!

Your bike is SO pristine! WOW! It looks barely ridden.

Can you share any back story about how you came to own it?

Your bike is in awesome shape, congrats!
The Araya people shut down the links to the old catalog scans, and not much exists.

Bianchigirll 02-03-23 08:10 AM

that's one slick looking bike

Certainly. It was for sale on Ebay about 4 years ago. The original owner provided me with the Araya owners manual and also told me that this bike was deliberately ordered without the Araya down tube decals.

Just stunning! I love the Dia Compe aero caliper brakes and Tange aero headset

Very cool! I saw something similar in person at an old bike shop in Iowa many years ago. That one had very ovalized tubing. And I believe it was a metallic gold color.

Hello a bit late reply I'd say😀 I bought this bike from the original owner about 5 years ago. They said that it was only used a few times and basically sat in the living room as a conversation piece. The also told me that they ordered it without the decals. It's an Araya Aero 822 model

Possibly the Lotus Aero

Can't believe it hasn't been asked yet or been offered up...

Does it feel fast?

Some squishy-tube excellence right there.
