The good news, if any can be found this godforsaken time of year, is that we've passed the earliest sunset and they are very slowly starting to get later again. :bday:

Need a nice bourbon for a gift in the $100 range. Any suggestions?

Later sunset taken advantage of today with a cycling activity. The office park paramotorer was up and at it this evening. :bday:

Today was our annual Holiday Lunch. We held it onsite, rather than going out as we did pre-COVID. We got Indian food. And somebody brought 3 different cakes. I swear, they're trying to kill me.

Our consult service tried to have an on-site holiday potluck lunch thing, but the authorities killed it. Meanwhile I sat through an all-day editorial board meeting and dinner at a crowded downtown restaurant this weekend. I wonder which would have been safer.:foo:

For that price, I’d buy scotch or Irish, but that’s just me.

At that price point, you can't really miss. It becomes a matter of preference for the subtleties. I'm not sure what the current prices are, but Michter's, Booker's, and Rowan's Creek are ones I have particularly enjoyed in recent history.

For a different twist, look into Japanese Whiskey. A buddy of mine has a couple that he's shared with me. Excellent stuff.

Scotch, maybe. Irish? It's like Scotch, but without the flavor.

It's a preference thing. I will always pick a bourbon or rye over scotch or irish, if I have the choice.
