18-miler urban metro san diego foray that started off hot and finished off cool. the may gray is finally making its presence known.
First night ride this year on bike trails last night.. Nobody in sight, very pleasant 25 mi in mid-high 60F temps.
I did 50 miles on the south side of Lake Lanier (north of Atlanta) this morning. The weather was beautiful- started in the low 60's and got up to the upper 70's. Great way to start the Memorial Day weekend. It would be better if they were running the Indy 500 tomorrow, but I think they are pushing it out to the fall. Enjoy your weekend everyone and get out and ride!

34 miles roundtrip. The initial route ended here in the ritzie part of Clive, Iowa. Makes you wonder how people can afford these huge lakefront mansions. |
flatty 64-miler from metro san diego around the horn to coronado along the silver strand and back. pure junk miles except for approx 15 of those miles.
did manage to make it into a beer ride for the first time in 9 weeks so there's that. |
60 miles
132km today. Had some headwind but managed to make the best of it.
32 miles roundtrip on the local trail. Got my ride in before the rain arrive.
102km and 1600 elevation metres. Longest / highest climb for me. For about 3.5 hours felt good, then was running low on energy and the last climb before home was hell. My PR is 06:22, took me 10:20.
The route was amazing though, stopped at two points to take photos, but there were some even better views still at some other points where stopping was tough. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...4e6f9e5b3.jpeg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...4a1c8932e.jpeg |

not very...
Pouring down with rain, too lazy to get out lol. Boxing bag it is
averaged about 58 miles per day in the past four days.
70.7 miles, but only 2251 feet total elevation gain. It was a nice, flat ride to get into Summer shape.
25 mi, 89F local roads. Nice day.

Across Sattelegg in the Swiss Canton of Schwyz. The first photo is from down below on the flat, the second is about 1/3 of the way up, on an even part that gets you to the main road up, after a smaller road I took (which was breathtaking, not a single car, just nature and a couple of farmhouses).
77 mostly +grade miles. Going to be recovering tomorrow.
there was a curfew :(
84 miles looping around mostly river MUPS with some hills thrown in. Never seen so many riders by the dozens without helmets. New or seldom perhaps?
Got up at 5:30am to take advantage of the light traffic. Was hoping to ride further, but it was raining so I only rode 21km. Still a nice way to start off the day.
Rode an uneventful 50 k from my home toward the town of Innisfail, AB and back along the old C & E Trail (Calgary > Edmonton). It's a rural road with far less traffic than the main highway. Overcast conditions made it pleasant until it started to spit 5k from the destination.

Hope to get better images later in the summer when the vivid yellow canola fields are in bloom. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...974f9d9df3.jpg Waited patiently for the wind to cooperate but it wasn’t meant to be. Thought this pic would make a nice tribute to everyone that contributes to this site. Stay healthy and safe all! |
Late posting, but 102 miles on Memorial Day.
HOT!!! 🥵 |
60-miler around mission bay, then down to imperial beach and back to metro san diego. some sun. some breeze. some clouds. some beers.

High Trestle Bridge. The bridge is lit up at night time. One of these nights, I will make it in the Evening hours and capture that photo. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...e87ca66e46.jpg Starts in Ankeny and ending in Woodward - 50 miles roundtrip. Sunny but breezy morning. Went against the winds for most of the ride. |
