Don’t worry. I am unlikely to spend that much for a pair of off-season wheels. Will scrounge for something eventually.

Yeah, that's what they're currently set up for, but will also do 15mm on the front or QR.

I looked up what people are asking for Reynolds Assaults on Ebay, and yeah, they ARE too rich for my blood.

Why would you want to afflict yourself with anything worse at your advanced age and at that price? The damn things will outlast you too!

I just looked. Those are priced silly.

Mrs. GeneJockey is sending me listings on Realtor that are in Buffalo NY. I remember how much snow falls there. I think her plan is to have us retire there, then kill me with snow shovelling the first winter, sell up and move somewhere else.

Just what I need, an MD conspiring with my wife to kill me.

Dougs Don't Do In Dougs.

That is not retiring. Nobody lives in Buffalo unless they have to.

datlas 09-15-21 03:55 PM

Hmmm. Fellow BF member Psimet2001 has what looks like good quality hand builts much more reasonably priced than those HED wheels. Hmm….

datlas 09-15-21 03:57 PM

We still want to retire to Andalucía but life has become quite complicated so not likely. More realistic is spend a few months there each winter but stay in NE the rest of the year. That’s assuming covid situation better in a few years, of course.

I had such hope last Spring, but it ran head on into a world of Stupid.

Yes. Too much uncertainty to make firm plans.

They'll be drinking Betadine next, if they haven't already started.

What an odd place.

Single use plastic shopping bags are banned in the state.

A couple guys I know have Psimet wheels. One of them is 265 pounds and the wheels have been durable. Plus, Rob seems like a good guy and I have chatted with him on BF for years.

You're right, they don't have a lot of rules. A friend linked me to a car mechanic page on there. After reading it for a while I joined in. Some of the guys are really funny! I identify with a lot of their stories, having spent decades in the business, and I've shared some of my experiences with them.

The pages there spawn other pages, or "subs". Like the mechanics post pictures of customer cars with trash inside, and another whole sub starts called "Carbage".

WinCo does.
Bonus: open 24 hours.
Bonus #2: you get to bag all your own groceries.
