Aurora safety vehicle built in 1957. Yes, ugly, but so am I. Both are one of a kind.

It looks kind of like a car based on a Disney-fied whale shark. Weird.

I’m old. Not quite Billy D old, but pretty old.

You can't be that ugly.

Designed by a priest, so some level of perversion involved, I'm sure.

Something from "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" came to mind, for me.

On happier topics - bicycle addiction - I signed up for Zwift Academy this year, figuring I could use some structure in my training. Hoo boy. The baseline ride went pretty well - 3 segments mixed in with about an hour long ride: a 2 minute climb, a 25 second sprint, and a 10 minute climb. I did pretty well, surprised myself by managing 25 seconds at an average of 821w in the sprint. So I was feeling pretty darn good about myself.

Then I did the first workout - VO2max Over/Unders. 3 intervals of 2' at 300w, 1' at 245w, 1' at 300w, 2' at 245w. Managed the first one, but halfway through the second, I thought I was gonna die! Maybe I went too hard on the previous days IRL ride, but I can tell you that 1 1/2 out of 3 intervals left me - well, not shattered, exactly, but certainly showing a number of cracks.

Maybe I'm too old for this stuff? Or too wimpy.

Was there rest in between? I'm assuming so, and if so, give yourself some more rest time. The object is to do the hard part, even if there's a little more rest in between. Next time, you'll know what you're in for and you can cut the rest down. Work into it. Based on what you did in the test, this should be doable in a few sessions.

On Labour Day we stopped at a restaurant in Xenia, Dumbdumb Land. They must have had workers off, because a waiter was literally running around. No surprise they screwed up everyone's order.

Anyway, on leaving there was a Saturn in the lot. Apart from a dent in the hood, it was in great condition. I almost took a picture of it, but chickened out at the thought of people seeing me.

Last trip to Xenia, maybe 6 weeks ago, we experienced the same

There are still lots of Saturns on the road. As long as you keep an eye on the oil level, they have a reputation for lasting almost forever. In the North we have a problem with underbody rusting, I am not sophisticated enough to assess my underbody but so far the car is holding up and it's only got 190K miles. People in saturnforums like to brag about reaching certain milestones like 300K and 500K, so my car is only middle-aged by their metrics.

There's a 6 minute, 145w rest between. Part of it is psychological, I'm sure - uncertainty that I can actually do it, plus the easy access to the 'escape' key.

TB can expect more teams aiming to beat the champs as the season wears on.

It was a good game. I like Dak and Dak is back. He's not gonna face that D every week.

Here, we don't have rust problems so my theory is any car will last as long as you are willing to keep fixing it. It's just a matter of whether the money required to keep it going is worth it to the owner. Of course, it's better if you don't have to put money into it but there is no point where suddenly the car is rendered useless.

I'm not that old.

Speaking of not old, my 2012 Tacoma has 60k garaged miles. Wife says I have to give it up when the kid starts driving. Makes me sad. It would last forever otherwise.

I gotta get one of those for my road bike.

You mean give it to the kid?

Despite recent sales, I bought my Justin Fields jersey immediately after the draft. Went with orange.

Hell no. He gets to drive it, which means he might smash it into something.

Over 400 yards and 3 TDs? I think he'd like to see that D every game, just wishing his own D was better.

Felt pretty good on my toodling around ride today so figured I'd go for 3x5 pullups.

I wasn't feeling that good though, ended up doing 5-5-2
