Can anyone help me identify my folding bike?

It has an Audi emblem on it.

Malungeon 03-27-21 01:57 PM

I don’t know what I’m doing.

It says I have to post 10 times before I can post a photo

Malungeon 03-27-21 01:59 PM

I’ve been searching through pictures on google

I cannot find another Audi with the same frame shape.

Malungeon 03-27-21 02:01 PM

I’ve seen some Apollo’s that look similar

But not with rear suspension

Malungeon 03-27-21 02:06 PM

There is a serial number on the head tube

But no other markings anywhere else on the frame

Only 5 more posts needed. Roger

You could also read other people's threads and comment on them - then they are more likely to read your thread as well - because you will no longer be a stranger.

I can find many pictures of audi folders with rear suspension on the internet, but I have no idea whether they are like yours. What year is yours, and how big are the wheels? 20"? 26"?

Malungeon 03-29-21 06:33 AM

Here’s one

It has markings on the shock

Malungeon 03-29-21 06:35 AM

I don’t know the year or anything else about it.

it’s a 20”

I can only make 5 posts a day.

I’ve never really used forums before. I’m not sure what’s expected or what’s considered rude.

Malungeon 03-29-21 06:43 AM

I just wanted to make 10 posts

So I could upload a couple of pictures

Malungeon 03-29-21 06:44 AM

I think I should be able to post a couple of pictures

After this post

I find asking a question is a good way into a forum, or indeed telling someone that you really like their bike ;)

I’ve spent a fair amount of time trying to track it down on google.

That’s what it looks like.

And that’s what it looks like folded.

Well, it is certainly an old one, and it actually has the early MTB style of rear brake position. what we need here is someone who is familiar with the kind of equipment fitted on it.

Falconista 03-31-21 07:08 AM

The rear suspension layout looks similar to that used by Bridgestone. Perhaps made by them for Audi.

Malungeon 03-31-21 07:47 AM

Are there any other photos that would help

The rear shock is labeled legeer s-1500 lb/in ts150 and the serial number on the head tube is rd070701259

Looks like an old Citizen Bike, I know it's not a Citizen. I believe Oscar bike is a Chinese factory that produces this kind of stuff.

Thanks
Yan

Just looks like a generic chinese folding bike with a audi sticker slapped on. Surely fake as Audi is a premium brand and that bike has very low end components.

I've got an NSU folding bike which is a company that made both cars and bicycles and was bought by Volkswagen group and became Audi but I don't think they manufactured any bikes at that point although the NSU brand may have continued for bikes. The bike I have is I would guess from the early 70s and has the Sach's automatic 2 speed hub.

Malungeon 04-03-21 05:49 PM

Not sure how old

It doesn’t look like it’s been riden much at all, and the parts look all original. The derailleur is made by Qilong. I looked them up and they appear to have been in business since 1993. The brake arms look like they may also have been made by Qilong but the levers are marked Jianyuan. The hubs are marked Tongli but but I couldn’t find much about the brand.

The part that gives me the most trouble is

This part of the frame
https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...11361bc72.jpeg
I’ve browsed hundreds, maybe thousands of images on the internet and haven’t been able to find another like it. Some frames by Apollo and Schwinn have a similar top brace but none are quite the same.
