Well I'll likely start with espresso beans. I have a french press; can't say I much like the method. I much prefer the Turkish coffee thing, or stove top espresso. But I don't have one of those machines anymore. I have never liked filtered coffee. And, to top it off, my hotplate is the new-fangled induction type, so I can't use aluminum. Have to find a steel one if I decide to go that route.

Did my first bit of 30/30 todays. 3 sets of 10 with 5 mins between each set.

Was actually a lot of fun, and wasnít as hard as I thought it would be which means I prolly didnít go as hard as I could have. Some key points that I learned.
LAJ warned me not to have a bunch of data showing, I ignored him, and chose to have 3 sec power, lap power, lap average speed, heart rate, and cadence. Well LAJ was right. I didnít need all that data it was distracting and told me nothing relevant. Also 3 sec power caused me to over shoot each time I started.
I forgot to ask my Coach what to do the 30 ďoff secondsĒ. So I just down shifted and spun up and focused on catching my breath. I made no attempt to maintain a power during the 30 seconds off. I was also on a 3 mile road so I would have to turn around every now and then.

The creaking got worse on the madone, so I took both bikes to the shop. Madone BB is done but should hear more about it tomorrow. Mechanic got my brakes on the cervelo to stop rubbing but once I got home the front brake started rubbing again. The bolts that hold the caliper on are really stiff, and hard to gauge if they are tight enough. I think when I use the brake it causes it pull to a side and then it starts to rub. Solution, remove the front brake.

Ordered a pair of GP5000 28mm for the MadOne, those should come in tomorrow, and I had the mechanic re wrap my bars on the Cervelo.

Went and watched the Todd Stadium Crit yesterday, Looks a lot like a lot of fun, but I have to admit I think I would like a road course more than a Crit.

I don't have a bike with through axles, but is it tightened enough? and does the wheel have any play when tight?

I'm barely off that list. The 17 miler I did today was a good 7 miles too long. We have been so caught up in not catching the virus that we have zero information on the recovery process. It is long and drawn out. Patience is required, if you are an active person.

Yea the wheel is tight, when he was working on it I could watch the caliper move when he pulled the brake. I was riding around my neighbor hood and brakes really hard, wasnít really thinking about it, and it instantly started rubbing again. It makes a decent about of noise this time around but itís not really slowing the wheel down so Iím throwing in the towel and will just ride it as is. If the MadOne gets fixed then when I go pick it up Iíll bring the Cervelo back.

He has something like 35,000 on the bike- the coin cells in the brain are what died.

As the Owls are being offered as a sacrificial lamb to the people of Cincinnati, our Volunteers will be winning one for King Johnny in the Steele City.

The Ducks start their season against the Dawgs. Think I'll try to go see the Wazoo game though.

the temp dropped really fast once the sun went down. Still loving the Aspero

I see my PCP today at 3, but was curious about thoughts

Normally thoughts won't cause this...or it could just be me doing it wrong.

Zenni Optical or one of the other online companies is where you'll get prescription glasses at a good price.

of course, that may be the recommendation made to Pro riders. Or people that actually ride thier bike regularly.

Trsnrtr 02-22-22 06:18 AM

Seriously, thunderstorms woke me up. I know it happens this time of year, but rarely. 54 (with rain) and falling temps today and then mid-20s for the next 7 days at least.
