no. I'm with ya. At least until the manufacturers start making real bikes with cables and rim brakes again.:innocent:

Evidence from South Africa points to it being so.

Yesterday at my old work station 28 out of 50 called in with "flue like symptom". Without any test kits who knows what they had.

Happy new year to one and all. I believe I will start the new year with a zwift ride. God willing this one will be a better year for all. Good luck and God speed.

Can we close the door on 2021 and lock it and throw away the key?

Was supposed to spend a nice quiet NYE with the wife and kids. Unfortunately their mom found out mid day yesterday they’d been exposed at a Christmas gathering she brought them to, so we spent the night isolated from each other in masks instead. Happy ******g new year.

:(

Yes, but it may look like good times later.

Getting ready to head out for a casual NYD ride. Probably not going into the mountains but some of the group will. It's 40 degrees and the wind is blowing pretty hard here but I'm looking forward to seeing some friends I don't get to see very often.

Raining (really) here. Fake miles.

Snow…

Mrs. GeneJockey was sleepy last night, so we celebrated New Years in Chicago, then she went to bed. Then The Older Boy and I watched 2 episodes of The Witcher, and at 12:00 (according to the NIST), I wished him Happy New Year.

Then the fireworks scared poor little Dory, so Mrs. GJ came back out to the Living Room and hung out till 1:00, by which time Dory has calmed down and quit trembling*, so we could all go to bed.

*Mrs GJ did one of those Doggie DNA things with Dory, and it turns out she's 28% Chihuahua. So trembling is in her blood!

Same. Did it with a group of friends and companion Zoom so the ride went by quickly.

We went to bed at New Year's Zulu -3 as usual :50:, but I was on call, so I had to leave my phone on and audible and neglected to disable notifications from text messages, so I was awakened repeatedly as midnight approached by the phone chirping and my watch buzzing.

My legs are beat, so I am going to ride with the "D" phantom pacer at about 1.9 W/kg for about an hour and listen to a novel.

I know you've been battling ailments all year, but for me 2021 was incomparably better than 2020 . . . . . . . . other than that January 6 thing, of course.
