Most irritating thing is that he just decided to hop the fence and use my yard for his own purposes without so much as introducing himself and asking. That and the potential contamination of the ground/water and over-watering of my landscape plants. There's also the trespassing issue. Around here that's just not a very good idea considering how many people have weaponry laying around (including me).

Some people don't think boundaries of any kind apply to them. Your neighbor sounds like that type.

This is why I want no neighbors.

And a moat. Hopefully I never need to drain it.

Didn't know that. We don't have any poolz n the hood.

It all depends on the neighbors.

You should make them change it to a Rossin Festival.

I mowed the front two lawns yesterday, and cut the Bermuda portion of the rear lawn this morning. I might do the hybrid portion of the rear lawn this evening, or maybe wait til Wed morning.

So true. But, there is always one.

In our last house, we had one directly behind us that was no fun to be around. The were Chinese (only mentioned for the context of this story). Every year, they bought 3 or 4 of the animals of the Chinese calendar, but by the end of the year that year's animals were gone and replaced by the next year's animal of the year. One year we had chickens getting in our yard constantly. Another year, their pit bull got loose and got into our gated driveway, and tried to go after my wife and our two kids (who were very young at the time). We had to call animal control about that because she could not get to her car to get out. Another year, they brought in cats that went feral, and we ended up trapping a half dozen of them. One year, they spray painted the fence between us white, and the spray blew through the gaps in the boards and covered our AC and pool equipment and the landscape bed/plants between the fence and our pool. We had a white landscape until the plants could grow out. They never mowed the back, and it was littered with shopping carts. There was always something.

I ride by a place that has a fence topped with razor wire on one of my routes. I've always wondered what that's about.

Meh. In theory, maybe. In practice, neighbors change, and if youíre in a standard subject plot with five, one of them will be a shower tote. Thus, my goal is as few as possible.

You are correct. We've been in our house for 14 years, and have been lucky that most of our neighbors are the original owners, and by and large are really good to live around. This is the first time we've had any issue with an immediately adjacent neighbor.

There is a group that lives in a house about 3 down from us that never mows their lawn, and they've let all the landscape plants die for the most part. They park cars outside, and will let them sit with doors and trunks open for days in a row (Mercedes and Porsche). The HOA has been all over them just to maintain the place without much luck. Window coverings are never open. The lady is a doctor. People can be weird.

I was at the Honda dealer this morning, getting some service done. There were two cars on the showroom floor, neither of them for sale.

You know that'd be me. I neglect the landscaping (other than keeping it to non-jungle status) and hate the feeling of my neighbors being able to look in.

I mean, the cars are inside the garage 24x7.

I'm weird.

Our cars are in the garage 24X7 unless we have them out for a particular reason which usually is washing them, cleaning the garage floor, or pulling the Jeep out to access lawn equipment or bikes. The only time cars are parked overnight in the driveway is when one of the kids are home, and that's only because we don't have a four or five car garage.

Yard is well maintained though.

If you spray it with weed killer, it just starts a new plant. I'm not sure what I'm going to do about it considering its in an area that is adjacent to the pool deck and very much a focal point.

Kill it with fire. failing that. nuke it from orbit.
