No I have not.
This might help you, but you may notice that the forum only gets rare posters. DIY / Make Your Own Gear (MYOG) |
I made my own frame bag. I repurposed some Cordura from an old stuff sack. I made mine a roll top which was way easier than trying to add a zipper.
I started by making a template out of cardboard. If you're going to make a roll top, be sure and make the top extra long. I barely made my top long enough to roll over. A little too long might've been better. Another thing to consider. I used velcro loops to attach it to the frame. If I could do it again, I might've also added some inserts and used the water bottle bracket bolts to cinch it to the frame. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...2860fd7699.jpg Btw: The drybags on the forks are also attached via a DIY system as is the roll top bag under the downtube which holds a 1 liter water bottle. |
hello mtnbud hello dear Tourist in MSN
many thanks for the answers and for the awesome discussion here. This is much much more than expected. I am overwhelmed by the awesome ideas that you have. I really like the setup and how you did this.. Your tipps and ideas regarding a roll top bag are exactly hitting the point. GREAT:) i am starting a bikepacking tour trough France next week ( not too long for this time but anyway - ) and i would love to have such a awesome setup.. Very well done. BTW- yes i also will visit bikpacking.net - many thanks you both have a great day you both :) |
Repurposing is probably a good idea. One problem is sourcing all the specialized notions, buckles, zippers. snaps, etc. for gear.
