Drizzle and fog when I got up but the drizzle stopped so I took the mountain bike out. There are plenty of steep streets around here and access to dirt nearby, but no epic trail riding. I headed to an area with some sandy canyons (perfect for wet weather) and other fun stuff. I started to go up a canyon and I saw something move through the bushes and I couldn't identify it. Pretty sure it was not a coyote but it might have been a deer. Could also have been a big cat, so I turned a different way. It was a little eerie with nobody around and low fog.

I went to a little peak overlooking the valley to have a granola bar and there were sirens below which got the coyotes howling. I went back down and went to a park which was all locked up. I know a way to get in there by mtb but once in I couldn't get out the main gate so I had to climb back up the rocky thing I came in on. Of course it started raining by then so I just went home.

It's not so bad getting wet if you can just go right home.

I took care of dinner last night so my mother- and Brother-in-law said that they wanted to make dinner for Christmas. Well, my BIL isn't exactly accomplished in the kitchen, but he decided to take the reins. Probably not the best idea, but with MIL supervising... okay.

We (wife and kids) were out on an afternoon walk and were happy and somewhat surprised to hear, via text, that dinner was in the oven without a hitch. We had intended to get back a little early to help, but since things were going well, we lingered.

Welp, we just got back and found out about the hitch. BIL notifies us that he'd neglected to factor in the size of the roast and we'd need to add another 90 min or so to the cooking time. Okay, it could have been worse...

Then I mosey by the oven and notice the temp set at one-******g-seventy-five. What. The. ****. Yeah, the recipe that he'd found online - metric. He messed up the weight conversion and completely neglected the temp conversion. :trainwreck:

Great googly moogly.

Oh, for the love of mike! Don't worry, though. He'd only have to cook it to 52 degrees......

Read the dang recipe a couple times before starting on the actual task.

Had to use footholds and handholds to climb the steep parts. The grade is >45 degrees for about 75% of the hike.

Speaking of natural, I got some tanwalls and silver rims on the Legnano today. Thinking I need a silver pump now.

The two nearest decent Chinese joints' phone lines are busy. My favorite Indian local's line was busy too. Going with my second favorite Indian joint, which actually might end up being my favorite, but have only tried two meals there so far.

datlas 12-25-21 07:48 PM

I have some major Indian frustration. There are easily a half dozen (or more) places within 10 minutes drive of here, but all are mediocre.

There is a really good one but 30 minutes drive.

First world problems.

We only have like two or three within that distance here. :foo:
