Yeah, the crankset is the only thing that really makes me wanna hurl.

LAJ 04-02-20 10:18 AM

That bike will be fine with fenders from here. Boulder Bicycle is a dealer, as well.

sbxx1985 04-02-20 10:19 AM

I also think it's kinda BS Lynskey spec'd it out with FSA, if you bought the full bike and not the frameset. Why would they do that on such a nice frameset? Well, we know why.

Why do you need permanent fenders on a bike that nice when it's nice and sunny out? And why the front fender? Too much fender.

The bike wants to be sexy.

99.9% we're on the same page. Fenders can be sexy.

Again, the hammered ones

Those prices, though. :(

This is a dream titanium frameset. Let us help you. Stimulate the economy.

Because it's not always nice and sunny, even through the course of a ride. Also, sometimes streets are very wet even if there's no rain.

And well-fitted fenders can definitely be sexy.

Don't make me post my Trek again.

I'l do it!

I've had them on my Puch for 10 years, and the mounting and fenders themselves work and look as good as new.

If you're looking for black 45mm wide ones...

Ooof. Two new ebay listings of Praxis take-offs - $80 each, free shipping. 172.5mm, 50/34, 30mm spindle. I'm tempted to buy one of them for the rings.

These aren't on sale, but still cheaper than Honjos. Good quality, too, I've installed two sets and am about to do a third.

Let's see your fenders. I'll show you mine.

Two seconds on or off, which includes time to find the right spot to touch it without getting dirty.

Oh, I bet and I'm sure they'll last a lifetime (or close enough to it), but still... If it's high quality and something that I need or really want, I'll usually come around after the initial sticker shock.

Bike make-overs.

Post up the Habanero and let's see how much sbxx can enable you.

No rattles or rubs, and full coverage front and rear :thumb:

Kudos on the proper radius and centering.

Ha. Good luck sellin' Mo on that for his commuter.

sbxx1985 04-02-20 10:42 AM

It's OK for the Puch and Trek. Not for Mo's bike.

Hey Mo - how long is your commute and do you ride in the winter?

No can do. Mrs. datas controls the finances and he has no discretionary bike funds. He's been debating power for about four years.

sbxx1985 04-02-20 10:52 AM

I can't believe Praxis cranks are take-offs now like FSA has always been. That's the way to go.

Enve made it for them. Between the frameset and Ardennes, you have a solid start.

I assume it was custom. Why didn't you make the HT taller?

Strictly off the shelf. I've dropped a spacer since that pic.

4 mi., but they're all uphill. Yes, all winter, as long as the road surface is safe.

Just to up the ti bikes in here so far, my new Lynskey. When they have their clearance sales, prices become very affordable.

Thank you!

It's one of those things that I really take a lot of time to make sure is right, and afterwards I take a lot of pride in.

It's even harder with the skinwall tires since there's a very distinctive visual reference so close.
