2021 plus bikes
 

Which manufacturers are still producing plus bikes? I noticed my Trek Stache is no longer being manufactured. A quick websearch on Google for 2021 plus bikes wasn't very helpful. Should I be worried about finding 29 by 3 inch tires when my tires wear out?

There's tons of bikes with plus sized Tyre options but theyre mostly rigid frames. A lot of hard tails go up to 2.6-2.8, 3" is rarer

I'm also very curious about 3" tubeless tyres.. Maxxis chronicles seemed to have been loved far and wide but they've been discontinued

Id love to try a set of 3" tyres on my Fargo

It’s MY22 now.

You need not worry about the Stache, the 2g Roscoe replaced it

The max tire width for the Roscoe is 27.5 by 2.8 - narrower for the 29 inch wheel. The Timberjack now comes with a 29 x 2.6 tire and max tire size for the 27.5 wheel is 2.8. The max tire size on the Rangefinder is 2.6 for the 29 inch wheel, 3.0 for the 27.5. Jones is 3.0 with the 27.5 inch wheel. I am assuming there are rigid bikes with 29 by 3.0 tires out there. 29 by 3.0 tires do have quite a large diameter. A 27.5 by 3 diameter is a bit less. It seems logical some bike manufacturers have decided building frames with clearance for a 29 by 3.0 isn't worth it.

My search for 29 by 3.0 tubeless tires had so many narrower tires it was tough wading through them) I appreciate being able to ask these questions on BF. I've learned so much from this forum!

Thanks. I've been loving my Trek Stache. The floatation and comfort of the 3 inch wide tires is amazing compared to my 26x2.1 vintage Klein. The large circumference of the tires and the long wheel base does change riding characteristics on tight single track. I bought this bike with the intention of bicycle packing. It's going to work great for that...
