This rack is the one that goes on the Pashley Roadster. Fits perfectly.

Great job, that's an absolutely lovely DL-1. Is the Pashley rack/stand attached using the axle nuts? I've got a DL-1 project that I need to get moving on...one of these days!

Yes, as I recall, it slips over the axle stud. Both the Pashley Roadster and the DL-1 have 28" wheels, so the rack is porportioned nicely for the bike. I'm sure you noticed that it also has a built in stand, which I also like. If you didn't want to use the stand, it can be removed easily by drilling out the press-fit rivet that holds it on. This rack fits this bike almost perfectly.

Just kidding. I wish I knew. This particular pump actually came off the ladies DL-1 I have. The mans bike was missing the pump. I'd like to pick up another one to complete the ladies.

Go for the 16" version. The 9" one is too small.

Where did you order the Pashley rack from? I am going to be getting to my DL-1 in the spring and I think that would be an awesome addition.

Just to let you know, Gilbert told me this one was his last one. I believe he said he'd ordered 10 of them a couple years ago. 60 Years And Still Not Tyred

Hey thanks erileykc. Completely disassembled everything. Bottom bracket and headset were greased and a couple of balls were replaced. The AW hub was also checked and bearings were packed lightly with lithium grease (helps hold the oil in). Rust spots on chrome was removed with WD-40 and brass wool (fine). I used a very fine brass brush on a dremel to dress up any nuts that had tarnish on them. Afterwards, polish.

The wheels were the most work. I had sore fingers for a week. There was also some rust on the inside of the rims, which I removed with a wire brush on a dremel. Afterwards, all the paint and chrome was polished with Mothers wax and cleaner and then reassembled. Just take your time and polish everything.

The Superbe can take pretty much any chain stay mounted stand... if you have rod brake the fitting of the stand requires a little more work and there are stands designed to with and around the brake rods.

Isn't the stand he is talking about the one that is integrated with the rear rack and is mounted on the rear dropouts?

I don't know where to get one but i LIKE IT and would love to get one for myself. it doesn't look original and may be fairly recently sourced. It looks expensive.

The rack that's on my Tourist is a Stemco (Pashley Rack). It may be the same one that Dutch Bike Bits is selling.

The one Dutch Bike Bits is selling is a Steco. It is available with or without the stand, very reasonable pricing too.

Yup, 28" wheel. The rack doesn't look quite as good as the original one because it extends so far at the back, but I can forgive a bit of ugly in favour of a sturdy stand :)

Where did you order your decal from?

I found a similar stand on Amazon, which was more expensive and not good quality. It did not work on my bike because it rubbed on the chaincase. The Steco one looks like it would work great.
