1964? Schwinn Varsity....The QR's were big thumbscrew type. Bought used for $20.00. Sold in 1971 for $50.00
1972 Raleigh Grand Prix. Plastic Simplex derailleurs.....
1989 Schwinn Le Tour
1990 Cannondale R600 . 7 speed 105. Immediately taco'd the rear wheel and had a wheel built with a Mavic tandem rim. Converted to 105 STI.....

I still have the three below:

2022 Specialized Creo. Let the LBS have the stock wheels and built wheels similar to the Clydesdale. DT Hybrid 36h / Velocity Aileron....Road boost spacing....

I can list every bike and trike I have owned, including those from my childhood. Maybe I will if I get enough time to kill.

3alarmer 08-31-22 08:57 PM

.
...I don't really feel like I own them. They're mostly older steel frames, and now that I've restored them, they should outlive me. I'm more like a caretaker.

The tough ones to remember are the various hand-me-downs we had as kids. We lived near this much-larger family that had about eight kids, all of them older. We got ALL their old bikes, clothes, toys, shoes, etc...

Fredo76 09-01-22 07:59 AM

Besides the four in the stable thread, there would be, working backwards:

Yokota Grizzly mountain bike, maybe 1990
26 in. Schwinn Paramount, '70s, silver, stolen :(
24.5 in Crescent, '70s,
Romana 300 (actually my father's but I raced it)
Romana 120 my training bike as an Intermediate
Raleigh 3-speed, became my paperboy bike
Red Schwinn with 20" wheels that I learned to ride on
The tricycle with the extra-big front wheel...

indyfabz 09-01-22 08:38 AM

Bianchi SLX frame bought new in 1990 and built up with Shimano 600.
Trek 930 MTB bought new in 1991.

Hadn't thought about it really.
Do I count the 'zero bikes'?

just counted 30 in the garage and small storage. 2 belong to my son, 2 exclusively the wife's. Only 4 are not road worthy. There have been ~15 that got moved on to other owners (5 in one sale).

Then there are 4 zero bikes - sister, brother, daughter & friend houses - at homes I visit where I may need a bike that fits.
Riding is more fun than walking.
Roll on.
Clear your handlebars and your mind will follow.

r.

Tough one -- if you look at my "current stable" list, its apparent i dont throw much out -- but i used to race track at a fairly competitive level and would go through bikes for that fairly rapidly - however, most of my road bikes i still have

But i'll try to

Childhood - not many bikes as i discovered motocross at age 10 and was done with bicycles for a while

Sears Stingray style bike
Team Murray BMX bike
Another department store BMX bike that was a Redline copy

1sr "adult bikes" - i sold the originals long ago, but have replacements in the same paint scheme in the shop now
Bridgestone MB-6
Marin Road Project

Then - in no particular order

Paramount Series 70 mountain bike - 1994
Paramount series 50 mtb
GT GTB track bike - 1999
Corima Cougar track bike - 1999
Bridgestone/Anchor track bike - 2002
Giant TCR Team road bike - 2002
3 Rensho funny bike (track)
Bianchi Pista
Miyata road fixie
Cannondale Synapse carbon
Trek 5900 Dura Ace
Pinarello Opera Dura Ace
Specialized S-Works Tarmac
Santa Cruz Superlight (i had a couple of these over the years - still have one as a buddy bike )
Santa Cruz Nomad
Original Cannondale Criterium
Cannondale Criterium 3.0
DeRosa SLX (probably should not have sold this one )

Then a passel of C&Vbikes i purchased thinking i would harvest the groups for other projects and just never really got to it -

Bunch of Cannondales
R900, R800, R600, older SR series
R300? - whichever one had RSX components

Centurion Ironmans, -- 2 MAsters, and 2 Experts
Diamondback MAster TG - basically the 1990 Ironman
His and Hers Diamondback Fleetstreak mountain bikes
Raleigh 531 Technium and Univega Modo Vincere --- parted out these and gave the nice framesets to BF members
Coppi road bike,

Too many bikes --- i'd like to pare down the current stable to just a handful, but i've attempted to have a couple of "fire sales" over the years and gotten limited response, so i may be stuck with some of them
