That's because you're unable to chew gum and bank short-term memories at the same time.

Prolly.

Prolly.

Multiple studies show gum chewing benefits cognitive performance. Also helpful for getting annoying tunes out of one's head.

I have fallen victim to lplo again. I thought my good nature and clean living was the reason. I've avoided it. That and the quality of content that I post.#Perplexing. :foo:

I can't remember the last time you made sense.

I'll be back, I'm going to get a case of double bubble at the walmarts.

You'll need more than that. Very severe memory loss.

Whilst in transit I saw some guy pushing a bicycle on the railroad tracks. There were no crossing streets nearby in the direction he was coming from. :foo:

It's a nice version of the Jaws boat. If a big shark rams it, or jumps on it, it will sink.

I hope he's careful on the bridge.

NSFW, the "s" word. So naughty.

You'd be surprised how long it takes.

I had a case a while back where two kids were pushing their bikes on railroad tracks. They found themselves on a bridge crossing an interstate highway and a train coming. One kid got off. The other got his pedal stuck in the track and wouldn't leave it. The train hit the bike causing the kid to get knocked off the bridge. Fell onto the highway and died. The engineer and crew hit the emergency brake as soon as they saw the kids over a mile away (there was some curve to the track leading to the bridge), but it did no good. I never saw a grown man cry like the engineer did when he was asked to recount what happened. Sad deal all the way around.

Long, heavy trains. But the one above is little more than a locomotive, which doesn't even look like it's trying to stop.

Another fine ride today. I had a tough choice, go with the big and faster group, or take it easy with two of my best cycling friends.

I went with my friends and sent the hammerheads on their way.

It's a movie.

In a proper movie train-braking scene, you see sparks showering off the rails.

It's a movie made by movie makers.

Those types of things don't always reflect reality.

Did you ever watch NCIS Los Angeles? How often do you hear about federal agents having big shootouts with automatic weapons? Rarely, if ever, but on NCIS it happens 2 or 3 times per show.

This must be why teachers always ask "Did you bring enough for everyone?" - not to discourage one student from chewing gum, but rather to encourage ALL students to do so.
