Three songs, newly-released while I was in high school, that I liked.

Nevermore
Take the Long Way Home
Mississippi Delta City Blues

Jimi Hendrix, 1983 from Electric Ladyland
Cream, Deserted Cities of the Heart from Wheels of Fire
Blind Faith Can't find My Way Home from their only album
All of these albums were great.

I love this version of Can't Find My Way Home.

In theory, the concepts of entanglement and nonlocality may have applications in communications and even teleportation, although these ideas are still largely hypothetical at this stage. Due to the effects of the uncertainty principle, the mere act of observing the properties of particles at a quantum level (spin, charge, etc), disturbs the quantum system irrevocably, and this would appear to prevent us from using this system as a means of instantaneous communication. However, Anton Zeilinger's work at two observatories in the Canary Islands has shown promising indications that entangled particles can indeed be reconstituted in a different place (although the leap from this to a teleportation device of the kind envisaged in Star Trek is a profound one).

Schrödinger's cat illustrates the observation problem well, once you wrap your head around it. Like so many things, humans try to apply Earthly terms to quantum problems, it doesn't work people. Look at the solar system, it could just as easily be a single atom in a larger world and universe. Space is so vast, that our mortal time frame limits our distance capacity. Now, don't forget the faster you move, the slower time progresses, in you frame of reference, so earth years become meaningless. Oh, lets not for get E=Mc2, the faster something travels the more massive it becomes. You would become infinitely massive, the closer to the speed of light you reach. Thus you would require infinite energy, to hold your speed. Let's just leave the amount of energy required to warp space out, unless you like to sovle that too.
Discuss:D

I'll be fine financially(in theory) if this doesn't last more than 6 months, but what am I supposed to do with all this free time?

Sorry to hear that. Uh, grace us with your fine wit and intellect. Ride until your legs fall off.

Snow showers possible later this week. Shouldn't stick. Hopefully, we can refrain from salting the roads.

The bands from my HS era were the Stones, Beatles, Doors, Moody Blues, Hendrix, Cream, Deep Purple, Animals, Led Zeppelin, Steppenwolf, Kinks, Hollies, REO Speedwagon, just to name a few. I don't think I could pick any favorite single songs. It was a magic time to live through with a lot of wild stuff happening daily and also that thing going on over in SE Asia. Exciting and scary times, both. Glad that I lived it and yes, I do remember it.
