Haha. The touring rig above is Khatful's Touring Series IV. He's a frequent poster, resident aluminum polishing wizard, and fuji-koolaid-sommelier. I'm sure he'll chime in with photos of his stable.

I have 2 Fuji bikes in various stages of restoration, nothing to post about yet... but Khatfull will certainly have a lot of Fuji pics/info, he is resident expert on Fuji.

'83-ish Fuji Espree that I dearly love. Have put tons of miles on it (original owner). Used to even ride it to and from work when I was younger. Just pulled it down out of the garage rafters this weekend to clean up and get running again. Will post pics as soon as I can.
BTW - I'd like to keep it pretty original, but if it needs replacement drivetrain parts, is there one particular series that fits well without any hassle or modifications? |
I went crazy over the Fuji "Special Road Racer" when I was a kid. It was dependable and built to last like a Chicago Schwinn, but was much lighter and enabled you to go faster and cover greater distances. The 1981 18-speed Fuji S-12-S that I have now is my fourth S-10-S/S-12-S. I have 27" x 1" Pasella TGs mounted on it right now.

I use my 1983 S12-S LTD as my touring rig with a saddle bag and front rack. I have not kept it classic, but oh man, it rides wonderfully.
Back in May, we took a ride up and down some serious mountains to some Yurts: http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5308/...776f31e697.jpg It carried some beer: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3044/...144a7f35ea.jpg and then later in the summer, it helped conquer the D2R2: http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6196/...bd221244f9.jpg If anyone has an extra 25" or 27" frame Fuji, let me know. i love this one! |

Those three Pro's are on my winter rebuild/ to do list ... the one in the middle was the frame Fuji used at the 1979 International Bicycle Show in NY to display the Suntour Superbe Aero group. Scott |
they are bueties. i have a real soft spot for silver frames, something about them that's so appealing

I am working on an 1987 Fuji Palisade and would like to upgrade the seatpost on it to have finer adjustment on it. Could any of you that have a lot more experience with Fuji bikes point me in the right direction of where I could find the seat post diameter? Is it 26.6mm or 26.8mm? The catalog on VeloBase gives the length 220mm but not the diameter. Your help would be much appreciated. Thank you.
