hybrid bike part upgrades

hello,

what are some parts to upgrade on a trek 7300fx hybrid bike

TakingMyTime 08-18-21 06:34 PM

Are you having some kind of problems with a particular part? What is it that you think needs changing? What kind of condition is it in? What kind of riding do you do, road, MUP, gravel etc? Are you putting a lot of miles on it every week?

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it" :innocent:

Of course people here like upgrading bikes.

Do you know what parts your 7300FX has? It would be helpful to post this list. It you do not know, you will have to do some research and will come up with some ideas. As TakingMyTime said, what are you trying to achieve?

The most obvious and the easiest upgrade is tires.

If you don't abide by n+1,

Then abide by parts+infinity = blown budgets!

It's an inexpensive bike but very standard and there's nothing obviously bad about it. Anything you change on it with brand new parts is going to turn into a bigger project than you want. Just clean it up and tune it up and take care of it. If you want to spend some money to make it ride better, look at the things that harden up over time, the parts you can "freshen up," saddle, grips, tires, cables, brake pads

well first off i'm having trouble with the chain skipping when i'm in 3rd gear on the front and 8th gear in the back. and just got a new freewheel put on so im guessing its with the shift cable.

Have you installed a new chain with the new cassette? A worn chain may skip with a new cassette.
It may also be the case that the shifting is not adjusted properly. Is the 8th gear the smallest cog? Check the limit screw as well.

hybrid parts upgrade

i just had another new 8spd freewheel and a derailleur adjusted and new chain as the other chain wore out which the other chain was not that old.

Take it to the shop. If they replaced some parts and it's not working right, best to let them sort it. No good will come from random fumbling with stuff.

I have a Scott sub cross 10. The original tires are Kenda Booster 700 x 45c. I want to change them with puncture resistant tires. One of the options I have is Vittoria City Adventure Tech 700x38 G2.0. I am riding both at dirt roads and in the city so this seems OK. the width of this (Vittoria City Adventure Tech) is a bit smaller though. What kind of performance difference of this width change would bring? Should I keep the original width?

I'm rehabbing a bike. When I took off the suspension fork, it turned out to weigh as much as the frame.
