Fuji Gran Fondo 1.1

I'm toying with the idea of a new bike once I get my life together (which could take a super long time but I am looking at spring 2022). My budget is up to and including about 4500 bux. I have looked at the endurance bikes from Trek, Specialized and Cannondale as well as Giant but happened to look at the Fuji website and like the look of their Gran Fondo 1.1. It seems to be similarly equipped to these models (all Carbon frame, Ultegra throughout) but is quite a bit less expensive.

I have also looked at some Lynskey Ti. bikes but would probably have to sell a few things or finance a small amount of the purchase which I am against.

I'm looking for opinions of Fuji in general or this bike specifically. I read some generic web reviews but I find those to be not the greatest measure. I am currently riding a Trek 2.3 that is pretty old and has some dings but is a great bike. I have upgraded the brakes, cranks and rear DR to Dura Ace (7900 series) and there is really nothing wrong with it. I am looking at something in the endurance category because I suffered a really serious neck injury 6 months ago and now riding gets to be a pain in the neck pretty quickly. I can suffer through it but would rather not if an endurance geometry set up would be beneficial.

I'm not a bike snob so I'm more concerned with the quality of the bikes/company and not the bling factor. My requirements are a more comfortable geometry or ride (however that can be accomplished on a non recumbent bike) with a higher grade componentry. I tend to do most of my own work too so anything too exotic from a maintenance standpoint is out.

While I can’t speak of the GF 1.1, my Ultegra Di2 equipped 2018 SL 2.1 has been great. Light, quick, and all day comfortable.

They make fine bikes. I really like the SL 2.1 Rim myself.

I have a 2016 Gran Fondo two.1 with Ultegra and it is a great bike.

I may not be able to offer advice on that bike, but I’m am curious about the cause of your neck pain.

Is it handlebar height where you have to rotate your head up as you ride?

Is it caused by vibration from the road?

I've ridden a Fuji Supreme (which is their women specific aero road bike) for the last 15500km. It has been great in every way.

Quick, comfortable, love the geometry with the slightly longer F-C than the typical race bike. Plus, it looks good and that matters to me. Could spend all day on it.

Where can you buy the Fuji Grand Fondo 1.1 at this time?

I have the Sportiv 1.0 LE, the aluminum version of the Fondo. I love the bike. I ride it more than all my CF wunderbikes.

Fuji, because the name is less well-known, tends to offer great value. I wouldn't hesitate to buy any of their offerings.
