I lowered the hammer on my wisteria a few weeks ago, it's been a pest ever since it's arbor got torn down and I was too lazy to replace it. Now I don't have to.

Wisteria is high maintenance anyway, good riddance.

We have it on the pergola to provide shade and flowers and we like it because it reminds us of the BBG. The wife keeps aggressively pruning it back every year, though, and it still hasn't completely covered the 12x12 top, yet. The wife was a little less aggressive this year, though, so maybe it's the year.

That was the coldest ride I've been on in a few years. I dunno what happened, it was supposed to warm into the 50's. Was really to cold when I left, figured I'd warm up. Not so much. Got home it had warmed up to 38. 20 mph wind and sideway snow. That, was dumb. I'm froze.
However, brakes are bedded in. My rear brake is actually providing drag when it is applied now, so that's a win. And the chain is quieter than a velo vol. LOVE waxed chains!

WhyFi 05-09-20 12:46 PM

Well, it was supposed to rain, so I squeezed in a short ride.

Annnnd still no signs of rain and it looks like I could have stayed out for another hour and a half. :notamused:

rjones28 05-09-20 12:49 PM

Still cold and snowy here.

I am fed up with Zwift. Considering the price there are so many bugs that ruin the group ride experience. If it worked I would stay but plan to cancel. Sad.

I honestly don't think any of the trainer software is actually good.

Maybe. If I wanted the software for structured training, I think it does a very good job at that.

But I want Zwift to keep me distracted with group rides and to simulate the group ride dynamic. There are several features that allow and/or encourage this. First one is the fence. The fence is placed by the ride leader and essentially prevents riders from flying off the front and pushing the pace. It's a great feature. It worked fine but apparently developed some problems so they took it down 2 months ago. Since then, the group rides I have gone on are much faster and harder and way less cohesive. That's my first gripe. It's not the worst one.

My second, and bigger gripe, is that periodically the program essentially erases other riders from me, which eliminates the draft and turns a group ride into a solo ride. Also, when the draft is lost, I am not able to stay with the group. The last two group rides I did were like this, and it's very frustrating. I might as well just ride a dumb trainer with a youtube video of cycling for free.

I just canceled my account.

Did you let them know why you canceled your account?

Indeed I did. I don’t know if they will reply. I have complained to their customer service about these issues and got a reply acknowledging there is a problem and they are working very hard to fix it.

You say that buuuuut…

For example, Rouvy, upon completing a simmed course, provides the option of an unstructured cooldown. In workout mode though, no dice. When I asked about adding it (which seems like an easy win) the help desk helpfully pointed out that it wasn't a feature they supported. On the simmed courses, the stat readout is unreadable if the sky in the video is too bright. I didn't even bother bringing that to their attention.

Yes, all the software is capable of the minimum viable product of directing the trainer to apply load to the rear wheel. From the perspective of a guy who pays for it with software QA turned developer with an eye towards usability, it's all crap. I use Rouvy because as long as they're all crap, it's the cheapest way to get load into my legs. Whenever my hammer goes to the great pain cave in the sky (or under the ground, maybe more appropriately) I'll try a Neo 2T and see if the Tacx software is any better.

My friend met him in a chance encounter in 2014. Even though Little Richard was in a wheelchair he still tolerated the people mobbing him for selfies, etc. and handed out pre-signed photos because he was too weak to do a bunch of signing. My friend ended up on the elevator with him and two of his entourage and he thanked Little Richard for his music. Richard just nodded and shook his hand. What a memory to have!
