After growing tired of my girl fawning over Paw Patrol and Daniel Tiger, I got her hooked on a great, "new" show - Reading Rainbow. :D
She totally loves it and I feel better about plopping her in front of RR and LeVar when I need a little time to take care of something. |

The way I understand it is that the shape and size of the tubes that make up the instrument are sized in order to facilitate resonance of the air at certain frequencies. The instrument is at atmospheric pressure on the inside, and the only real airflow that moves through is a byproduct of the moving air required to create the initial vibration with your lips. The valves just change the length of the tube that the sound waves travel through, with each valve combination tuned to resonate at a specific frequency. Most brass instruments I've tried are quite free-blowing, there is some resistance but not a whole lot. The smaller the ID of the tubes, the more resistance there is. Try blowing through a straw vs blowing through a paper towel tube.
I have played both trumpet and tuba. The tuba does require a bit more airflow, but that just seems to be a necessary consequence of the amount of air it takes to vibrate your lips at frequencies that the tuba is designed to resonate at. If you want to try a silly experiment, try to buzz your lips at a high frequency and then at a very low and floppy frequency. I think you'll find that the latter will exhaust your lungs a lot faster than the former. TL;DR - You just make the air inside the horn vibrate from buzzing your lips, any air movement through the horn is a necessary byproduct of that. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...7b766b9373.jpg |

My buddy has a Dogma, and it really seems to just go. I haven't ridden the R5, but a teammate has the Factor. I liked the ride of the Dogma, but that was only a 15-20 minute ride, on each of them.

Sell off 8 of those rim brake wheelsets, and you'll have the money(and space) for that frameset.
And some bikes... That's hard to do. |

I was a little old for Reading Rainbow, but I'd still watch it everyday after highschool, mainly waiting for Bob Ross to come on though.

On my way into work today, the Saturn was acting funny. The power was obviously stuttering. Initially I was askeered the clutch was going, but I saw the check engine light was flashing intermittently so I am guessing there is some moisture in the ignition system that is causing the problem (it was wet out there). I have the car at the shop, fingers crossed it's an easy and simple fix.

You can get it for a fraction of that price from the same factory off a certain website...
To be fair to the person selling it, they are describing it explicitly as a "Chinese CF frameset with Canyon paintjob". |

I had that happen a couple of brief moments before I replaced my plugs. What's the deal there, is your cat toast as soon as that happens or does it take an hour or two driving in that condition to ruin your cat?
