One of my cycling friends is a software guy for Hammerhead. On today's ride we started talking about Strava. I told him that for what I use it, I don't think I want to pay $60/year and that from the end-user perspective, being asked to pay for something that was previously free seems unfair. He had a very different perspective and thinks they should be able to charge for their services and that my expectation of free usage is not realistic.

We agreed to disagree on this.

Yeah, I'd much, much rather do Quark or P2M before right-side-only.

I don't know how many times we have to repeat that.

Went to my go-to LBS this morning. Tuesday is the earliest they could fit me in to slap on new brake pads and a new chain.

Even I can DIY brake pads and chains. SMH

Somewhat more seriously, AG got this too. We had long since decided we weren't going, regardless.

I still can't believe what a CF Lubbock was.

Can that be used to wax chains?

Paraffin is obv the base wax that's most often used. I know that people have experimented with other stuff, but I don't recall seeing anything on beeswax. It's surely been tried - I bet a quick search will reveal all.

LesterOfPuppets 07-15-20 04:29 PM

Actually they should make you eat a Little Debbies every mile of the run, and every 5 miles of the bike.

So simple. So revealing

My keyboard is tiny. And moveableHow do I get the normal one back? Android phone

Trsnrtr 07-15-20 04:49 PM

7" rain since noon. That's biblical in this part of the USA.

The bread isn't meant to contact the sides.

if it has the little cursor hat below the space bar, drag that down to the bottom of the screen.

seedsbelize 07-15-20 04:57 PM

Says beeswax is the most hydrophobic wax out there. And just like that my keyboard is normal again. Will I remember the trick next time? Not likely. So I will use beeswax. He did say I have to clean the entire drivetrain. We'll see about that.

That's heavy rain in the Belizean rainforest. 7-8" was a normal 12 hour rain.

It's Tuesday.

Try to keep up.

Today I did a nice loop into the next valley and over a canyon for the return. When I crested the last hill I stopped to wipe my glasses before the descent. A woman was running up the road coming toward me. I never see runners up there, it's remote, steep, and it was hot today. She must have owned one of the cars I saw parked along the road.
Me: Hi, how far are you running?
Lady: Only about 6 miles.
So, no big deal, then?
No, no big deal. How far are you biking?
About 50.
So, no big deal?
No, not a big deal.
Ok, enjoy!
You, too!

I got a kick out of it and a smile, too.

My knee has been acting up (not in the ordinary way) the last couple days, so it's back to a non-counting activity this evening.

A 50-mile bike ride is a bigger deal than a 6-mile run.

Both are excellent, however.
