Nope. The SportWagen has quite a few of those.

I didn't wave at all on today's ride. I probably said "G'morning" 20 times or so.

I hopped on the "VW is getting rid of dieselgate TDIs at dirt cheap prices with an extended warranty" wagen a couple years ago but by the time I looked all the Sportwagen TDIs had been gobbled up. As it was I got a Jetta sedan BUT it has a manual transmission and with the turbodiesel is super fun and snappy to drive. Plus it had every conceivable option available that year (heated leather seats, BOSE stereo, moon roof, etc.) and it was very low mileage.

Anyway I'd still like a wagon but it's more work to get one than I'm willing to do, and having a stick shift is fun for now. I assume my next car will be electric so I'll just have fun with what I've got until then.

I rented a Jetta with heated seats a few months ago and that feature makes zero sense to me. I can't think of any situation where I would want heat added mostly to my grundel area.

I have heated seats in my Explorer. It's a feature I never use, but my daughter seems to enjoy, especially on cool mornings when we are up before the sun driving to her softball games.

Maybe it’s the one my wife got rid of in 2016.

How about 17° F? I love them.

datlas 07-07-21 11:09 AM

Good ride. VERY hot. Luckily I acclimate to the heat reasonably well so was fine with me. Beats snow/ice. The “real feel” was close to 100 by ride’s end.

Heated seats are a definite plus in winter frigid country, I leave mine on all winter.

Mojo31 07-07-21 11:10 AM

Heated seats are wonderful in the winter. I can't remember having a car without them. Now, heated steering wheels is where it's at - have them in my car and the Jeep. Both my wife's and my car now have cooled seats up front. That's the schizz during our summers.

One thing that I'm really learning to like is the ability to pre-heat/cool my car from my phone before getting in it or even turning it on.

Wife's car has cooled seats and a heated wheel. The cooled seats are fantastic in the summer, especially w/ black leather.

And how! We just had a tree guy come by to look at our trees. Cost to take care of everything is 8K.

He pointed out that our big old ash tree has the dreaded emerald ash borer and needs to come down. That alone is $1800.

Neighbor’s house listing apparently went live this morning. There have already been several visitors/showings. I expect offers to come in over the next few days. It really is a fantastic time to sell.

Ritchey doesn’t do custom paint jobs. Just throwing that out there.

The technician is here to fix the crack in the Saturn windshield. He is very impressed with the car given its age and mileage.

Shop around, people. You'll get a better deal in the winter, too.

I got to enjoy a couple of 17°-ish mornings, (and colder than that in Ely, NV) with the Jetta but still didn't want to heat my ass. I just set the HVAC to 70 or so and put vents on feet and hands after scraping the windshield, then feet only after my hands thaw out, and defrost only when needed.

I did try the ass heater on a 25 degree morning to see what it was like but it just had my balls sweating by the time the rest of the cabin warmed up :)

More like a couple of partially extended fingers and a barely perceptible nod.

That's the idea.

Amused by this woman who tried to put out the Olympic torch with a squirt gun.

Mojo31 07-07-21 01:54 PM

Daughter's boyfriend called yesterday asking if I could have lunch with him tomorrow. How can I make him squirm? Just a little bit.
