Handy guide of the day. Unfortunately cycling isn't covered. GCN should take a poll of only British cyclist and ask if they measure rides in miles or kilometres.

Throw the heavy dinosaurs away.

I do wear earplugs inside the Husqvarnas. I could adjust those looser, but I wanted to keep out as much noise as possible. I don't know for sure this is causing discomfort beyond when I take them off.

I don't need any more bikes. I do kinda want a coaster brake bike. I think I have all the parts except a 1" fork that'll fit 2" tyres. Maybe some fork hunting is in order...

Have you considered getting a herd of goats, dropping them off at the church in the morning, then picking them up at night ?

LesterOfPuppets 09-22-21 11:31 AM

Good, 14 ton cyclists deserve access to this road.

Get a pair of good electronic muffs. They work really well, and the carbon ones are very light. They suppress the damaging noise, but still let you hear normal ambient sounds. I have four pairs.

You have a "want" problem, not a "need" problem.

They do that here. It's very cute.

sbxx1985 09-22-21 11:37 AM

Never seen this. What's the story?

I kept looking at that/those too. Cool bikes, but nothing that I didn't already have. A Time in the garage would be cool, but no cooler than a November.

By this time, the RXR would have been shelved by you, me, and WhyFi in favor of all the others.

I have no source for goats. Nor way to transport said goats.

Check your local boondocks CL for goats.
The Honda might be able to handle one of these

Or you could just walk them over there

You could be one of the few goat herders with a JD. Start a youtube channel.

I LOL'd.

You should see your doctor about that head injury.

Too late.

I thought it looked intriguing. The Feed sent an ad to it, and that looks far better than that rolling around on the ground on top of a foam cylinder. I'm considering it, but have no experience with it.

wut problem solved?

My problem is that I've had headaches/discomfort, and lightheadedness.

Is the lightheadedness because the headphones ear protection is heavy, so the absence feels light?

Not headphones, ear protection when operating noisy machinery.

I have consulted the witch doctor because I'm suspicious the lightheadedness comes from the hefty dosage of mouse drug I'm taking. He didn't give a very satisfactory answer for that. So, still TBD.

One problem with "side effects" is that ones that are minor and/or only hit a small percentage of patients will get lost in the noise, because the placebo group will get them too, at some low level, and you need a placebo group for valid comparison. But once a drug is approved for an indication, you can't really do a placebo group anymore - it's not ethical to withhold an efficacious drug. The other thing is that so many side effects are self-reported, so you have a problem with people who think, "Oh, this isn't anything", as well as those who become hypochondriacal.

Too little signal among too much noise.
