it started with 2 sets of 370 ish for 2 mins and then 2 sets of 765 for 20 seconds I think.
I made it all the way to the second 765 and i’m not sure what happened. I turned erg off and finished the work out just making sure I hit the numbers I was told to hit. In my best coach voice... WTF are you doing? |
Oof, the sweet motorhome may not be available ATM:
They have an Instagram it’s @quirkycanary So it looks like they may have taken the Airbnb down for now. I know they wanted to use the money they make from renting it to restore it since they originally bought it to be used as a family RV, and it broke down on the drive home. So they might be doing some maintenance on it right now or something. |

WTF are you doing? Johns short mix. Ftp for erg was set at 258. Now that I think about it not sure who decided that was appropriate. |

I’m pretty sure I couldn’t do those intervals, even adjusted for my puny FTP. I did it on my first zwift ride. Garmin estimated my ftp at like 232 I think. I never got to do one with the madone before I left, so I really have not idea what my ftp is. I will say my mouth hurt after the second 3- - watt interval. I could feel my pulse in my tongue. |

Now that I think about it not sure who decided that was appropriate. At this point in time, there's no reason to be spiking anything like that. It is going to grind you down so quickly, that any steady state ride longer than an hour, is going to kick you into the dirt. You flat do not recover from stuff like that in a couple of days, simply because your body isn't ready for that stress. Stress is an evil mother, and you have no idea you're upside down until it's too late. |

https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...e66cba9417.png Having these coming to the house. The store in fort worth got bought out. Going to keep selling specialized and bmc, but going to start carry trek and giant as well. Mellow Johnies gear will be gone. It was a neat store and the bike paths looked nice. Debating to to take my bike when I go pick up the rock hopper tomorrow. There are two stores, that one and Austin. Austin was started by Lance, and FW was owned by someone else. The Austin store carried Trek as well. I wonder if Lance's group now controls FW. Take the bike and ride the trail. Head west and go to Benbrook Lake. |

So if I wanted to do intervals, using a power and time should I keep under 400? 500? example 3 mins at 150 followed by 30 seconds of 350? Im new to the interval thing. Obviously I have no idea what I am doing. |

I agree. There was a movie that had a fleet of black ones in it. I was a yute, and the name of it escapes me.
It seems like it was Peter Boyle but that's all I can recall. |

https://scontent.fphx1-1.fna.fbcdn.n...5a&oe=6188AC3A I worked with a guy who had a Cortez motorhome. They came out in 1963 and had a Clark forklift drivetrain. Front drive stickshift! https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-n1qranvvq...e-for-Sale.jpg |

Ergometer mode just “is what it is.” If you can’t do it with erg on, you can’t do the set.

Now that I think about it not sure who decided that was appropriate. If you're going to do some workouts on Zwift, do an FTP test first, you can start with the Ramp Test, and then don't go jumping in to the deep end. Maybe try some of the base-building plans until you get a better feel for things. |

Obviously I have no idea what I am doing. tonight was easy 6x4' Over Under 90-100 rpm 15 second 300, 45 seconds 225 80-90 rpm. 4 minutes rest. Tomorrow more of Tuesday night. Saturday a fast 45. So a couple hours at tempo, usually 45-46 miles. This after the same weights as Tuesday, except add 5 pounds. Sunday 3.5 hours Zone 2. That said, I'm over my ftp here and there, but not for long. All I'm trying to do is do better on weights, and the bike is basically in the way of that. The bike will come later. I do this to hit the podium here and there. Not often, but anytime one hits it in the open classes, it's a good day. I work hard to be a mediocre bike racer. I rarely let on what I'm up to on the bike, simply out of respect for my coach, but one week out of many years should be OK. You need to first find your FTP, true FTP. Train off of that, and train off of power. You also need to set base. You don't need to start breathing hard until January and February. You need base. You need cadence work. You need to be comfortable in the drops. I spend a 45 minute crit in the drops, and am pretty much OK with that. You need base. You need structure. |
