You can say "pumpkins", too.

I wondered, that, ever since finding out that the Shimano groupset was not spelled "Titleist", like the golf balls, but rather "Titlist", which would appear to be something chest aficionados would compile.

I never really liked the Beach Boys, but Mrs. GeneJockey positively loathes them. If they come on the radio, I just ignore them, but she'll turn off the radio, and remark for the Nth time that she HATES them.

Because they attract the "Bad Element??"

#RememberWhen

edit: I googled the James Watt fiasco and it's actually the "wrong element."

I can live in a world where the Beach Boys and I coexist.

Not vinyl?? Sad!

It happened on the strip where the road is wide.....

Two cool shorts standing side by side.

Course, I pretty much love Two Lane Blacktop too.

The Tuesday road ride didn't happen today so I took the mtb up the hill near home and I took a few snaps.
The first part is 10% for a while so I took a break where the grade relents a bit. My house is in the foreground under the trees in the center of the pic.Random hiker.
https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...7f96cc20d0.jpg
A little further up.
https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...7c07b6005d.jpg
The road I'm going to descend is beyond those trees. I have descended the trail on that ridgetop once and it is kinda hairball. I'd do it again if I had more powerful brakes, last time I walked the scary parts.

About 8 feet of shelf space in the rjones28 music library is devoted to vinyl.

big john 01-25-22 03:43 PM

Still going up.

Now on top looking north into the next valley.
https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...f965f5b478.jpg
All dirt until the bottom, about 7 miles. Gotta keep your eyes peeled for changes since the rain.
https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...7a6c5734bf.jpg
I use these horse trails to connect roads and they get deep when it rains. Some of them are very narrow and I worry about catching my foot on the sides. This branch was hanging part way into the trough and I bumped it so it fell against me and tried to attack my rear derailleur. I stopped to toss it out of there. It doesn't look it but it's about 10 feet long.

I got my weekly massage today, with an emphasis on the leg/back/hip issue. Following said massage I retired to my beloved hammock to catch up on emails and such. And realized i'm exhausted! I have two theories, related. One is that I'm being worn out by the injury I've been carrying around for a week, and the second is that the sleep I was getting in that infernal bed was not restful sleep, as it was contributing to the injury the whole time. At any rate, I'm walking normally now, and will likely do the dog walk tomorrow morning sans cane.
Vamos a ver

A friend and I stole the pure sodium from the high school chemistry lab and threw it in his farm pond. We did the same with the potassium.

I have about 5 feet left after The EX took half my collection 20 years ago. (Some things you don''t forget. :notamused:)

Is that your library? When's the last time you played all those Beatle songs, or all those Dylan songs? Maybe on a cross-country out and back road trip ... twice.

I'm proud to say that there are currently 2 functional record players in my house. There were 3 until my older daughter moved out. Both my girls enjoy spinning vinyl, and a record from one of their current favorite artists is always a welcome gift on gift-giving occasions. My step-father recently passed away, and as my mom clears out their house in preparation for downsizing to an apartment, I'm pleased to provide a new loving home for his stereo rig - JVC turntable, Yamaha receiver, and Klipsh speakers.

Kudos. I splurged and got myself a Riga turntable for my 50th birthday a few years back when my 1980's Technics shat the bed. It's got a decent sound. Sadly, I am too busy to listen very often.

When my ex took off she left a bunch of her records with me. Most of them aren't my cup of tea.

Nice! I suffer from the same "busy" issue.

A few years ago, I found a vintage Marantz 1250 integrated amplifier on a curb among a pile of junk that someone has dumped while moving out of their condo.
https://www.hifiengine.com/images/mo..._amplifier.jpg
It has a couple of issues, which is why it was dumped, but I was able to run it enough to discover how good this thing sounds. I have it tucked away for now. At some point, I will get it rehabbed and put back in action.

Uh huh, that's what I keep telling myself concerning some Denon components I have just occupying space.

Maybe we ought to ditch this dusty bicycle joint and find "a guy" somewhere on some stereofile forum.
