We had a good ride. The course and pace were a bit faster than ideal, but we stayed together and no one got dropped or butthurt. :bday:

current needs, include cycle cross bike, not an 8 speed with friction shifters.

Well, then you're in luck! It's probably 6 speeds, with indexing! ;)

Also 126mm spacing and being aluminum, no safe way to spread the stays.

Speaking of which, iíve have already started thinking about Christmas this year. Besides a couple more thermal bibs, and maybe one more thermal jersey or base layer. Iíve been thinking A, 105 11 mechanical for the ritchey. Depending on how much the price drops, B. Super team wheels for the Ritchey. Thinking 35-45 mm deep. C. Power meter for the Ritchey, Single side pedals D, Easton carbon bars for the Cervelo. E, A spare set of superteam wheels for the cervelo.

Decisions.

Whyfi will inform me that all of these are stupid except for the power meter.

4/6 also. Almost the same progression.

Thats an absolute steal for that bike. Not many Crest bikes out there IIRC.

Very long top tubes on those FYI. I think 61cm on the 63cm frames.

Screaming deal indeed. Looks barely ridden. If that crankset isn't scratched up, you could probably sell that alone for the price of that whole bike.

Based on 500 miles experience with mechanical Ultegra/rim brakes and ~2500 miles with mechanical 105/discs, I'd say the new 105 mechanical groupset for the Ritchey is definitely NOT stupid.

And probably should, since it's not a match, AFAICT. Should be 1055 generation 105. That's some kinda Campy.

The legendary Mavic ďStarfishĒ crankset!

Iíd buy it just for that and resell the rest.

The C&V guy with whom I organized the monthly C&V rides has been known to buy entire bikes for a seatpost.

They're actually not, but I didn't want to disappoint him.

Add training wheels for crash prevention.

Maybe instead of aero handlebars for the Cervelo, he should get aerobag handlebars?

:innocent:

:p

105 mechanical rim is still 675.00, more than I want to spend.

Or substitute a set of MTB pads for the new thermal bibs - the pads will keep him warm enough.

Do what I did for the R8000 - buy it piecemeal and never total it up.

I haven't kept up - is Shimano expected to offer a 12sp mechanical 105? If not, R7000 might not go down.

There were quite a few Garmin PM pedals on those Treks I serviced Monday.

Sounds expensive, but I guess I donít actually need brakes, and I have a spare 11 speed cassette. So I really just need, chain rings, cranks, derailers and shifters.
