However, I did use a 2Bliss ready rim strip. All we had that was the correct width.

I was wondering why it has threads on both sides. Disc?

Yup. ”Flip-flop” hub.

I don't know if there is anything we could do. How do you tell a guy he is a danger to himself and maybe others? Is it just situational awareness?

We have a rider who does crazy **** and crashes occasionally and we have a saying: “Never follow ***.” He’s an older guy (my age) with a legit racing pedigree.

There was much yelling at people to call “clear” at intersections today, until another one of us old crumbs called it with a car approaching. It sort of petered out after that. My own situational awareness isn’t always what it should be and I prefer to tell people I’m going, rather than rendering a judgment or advice.

Ithaca this week has the falls.

I lived there for two years. Nice place!

I'd be surprised if there were any current residents there.

The two living people who were there have not been residents for decades.

Did a group ride this morning. Kind of sums things up overall.

I think I might be done with them.

Maybe the faster groups would behave better, but it seems simpler to just ride solo.

I lost the technical remains of my virginity in a Cornell dorm while visiting my HS girlfriend who was in summer school there, so I have some affection for the place…and her, of course.

I understand why a lot of people feel that way. In my case, I have been a member of this club for 32 years and did 100 group rides per year since 2001. Lots of people come and go and I've made some good friends along the way. Now, I'm not fast enough to do the A rides and the B riders rarely show up. Covid has really wiped out club attendance.
I think about quitting the club but it has been a big part of my life for 3 decades. It seems it will never be like it was, however.

Single speed. Flip-flop hub.

A big reason I feel so frustrated is that we end up on a lot of roads that have enough car traffic where behaving badly in a group just makes drivers upset.

Also just a general lack of common sense - like running bright flashing lights that dazzle the rider behind you.

A pre-ride brief would help, but I'm not the ride leader (and don't ever want to be).

We came to Boulder to visit my mother and ride bikes. You literally can’t see the mountains most of the time. Fsck me.
