Thanks guys, it's taken some time to get all the components cleaned and overhauled. The wheelset needed two new bearing races in the rear hub, new bearings all around, both rims had to be unlaced and retrued and tensioned. New Tires and tubes. Continental 4000s 700c 23. The only part that won't be Athena/Chorus, will be the calipers. I have to suffer with a Late Super Record set. I had to make them nutted mounting. No way was I going to drill out that frame set for recessed mounted Athenas. The build should be done by weeks end.

If you knew how close it came to be a complete French build.....But, this guy around the corner has the French Bike scene all wrapped up:rolleyes:

I saw a 1983 PSV10 today at the Coral Gables museum. I was all ready to buy it had it turned out to be a PRO10.

Aw, I had a Jubilee once - I could never get it to stay in adjustment. Don't know if others have had that problem, but I was just not impressed by its function although it was light and had aesthetics that wouldn't quit.

Milled Super Record brakeset? Ooh - pictures please :)

This is a beauty and gets more beautiful with each and every part. I am looking forward to the completed machine and the ride report afterwards. Going to be a stunner!

I think that's half the fun of a Jubilee DR. ( Of course I agree that they look super - and are lighter than helium! )

Both of mine have been paired with ramped (one UG, one HG) rear cogs. One set has its original Huret shifters; the other uses Mavic/Simplex Retrofrictions. The Huret levers don't pull enough for my liking, but the Huret + Retrofriction combination is an absolute joy to behold.

It was a give away, My brother picked it up for the owner. It came with a very used Galli Group, beat up Eddco Bottom bracket, worn and rusted Galli Brake set. The best item was the crankset and Galli pedals. If I ever find and old obscure Italian frame, It will get all those amazing wornout parts. Until then, it's been a fun adventure getting this biike roadworthy again. I plan using it on Sunday Morning Group rides. I'm the only one in the group that rides steel and is older than everyone else. Still, I can keep up a 20-24mph pace, it still amazes me that I can still do that at my age.
This Mondia was supposed to have been for my younger brother who lives in Atlanta, and was able to pick it up locally. Sadly my younger brother is a bit big for this bike, he's 6'5" 290lbs. So, I offered to make him a vintage roadbike that will fit him. I'm in the process of building him a 64cm Super Course. Custom paint, new build wheels by me, lots of real nice parts from my parts bins. Pictures to follow. So that's what's happened, I make him a Vintage Roadbike fitted to him, I get the Copper Mondia.

I'll find you a nice PO8.

Very cool bike! I would tilt the handlebar down a bit. Will you be using 8s Ergos or DT shifters?

I just stuck them in for pictures, they will be adjusted correctly. I plan on using Syncro DT shifters. I know all the stories about syncros. I rode two bikes with them and they seem to operate fine.

I like that paint much better than the gaudy fade jobs they put on so many Mondias. By the way, the correct name is Mondia Super.

IIRC, Mike found the complete model name somewhere. Has "Criterium" in the name, I believe - something a bit more complex than just "Mondia Super" or "Super Mondia."

It is a Critireum Super Mondia. Lack of any real chrome, Reynolds 531SL tubing, drilled and lightened Bottom Bracket shell, Tight geometry. I have a feeling this one will be quicker on accel than the Black "Prestidge" Super Mondia.

I have one of these I think? Bought it at Palo Alto Bikes as a frame only in the 90's. I have no real info on it, but I can say it fits what you're describing to a T. Accelerate & sprints very quickly, but also handles climbing & decents extemely well & it's a 60 cm bike. It does have the 'Special Lightweight' Reynolds 531 tubing. I outfitted it w/ an older Shimano DA crank, Cylcone derailleurs, American Classic hubs, FIR rims w/ sewups, Edco Hdset, ITM bar/stem & lots of Ti parts. IIRC: brakes are Dia-Comp Gran Compe I believe. Because it's a couple cm taller than my size, at times I think of selling it, but it's such a nice ride & shifts effortlessly, I can't bring myself to it. Weighs-in at 19 lbs.

Maybe someone could shed a little light on this one. I always thought it was an early to mid 90's Mondia Super...?

I have one of those too, 1982 Super Mondia Prestidge. Campagnolo Nuovo Record. Even though there are differences I think they are from the same time line. Internal cable routing and braze on shifter mounts seem to be an option. They even have different fork crowns.

I'd call it "burnt orange" but, that's just me...I nearly bought a Mondia with the same paint but Nervex Pro lugs...it was also a beaut but needed too much work: couldn't justify it. Eventually got an orange Allegro to compensate.
