10 X 1 tap for rear derailleur hanger ....can be used for Campy or Suntour

These taps can be found at a good hardware store or auto parts supplier ....phone around and see who has this at the lowest price

Inexpensive and very handy to have around if you are working on bicycles often

RD Hanger, drop out adjuster, and cage/rack/eyelet taps are a wise investment.

Doesn’t the Superbe crank use a JIS square taper? Are you sure it will play well with a Campy BB?

I want to catch the bouquet - so you can perform the partnership joining of my next frameset and grouppo.

Thoroughly nice work, tho'! :thumb:. Congrats.

When you are ready for the matrimonial ceremony, I can make their union official.

The shade of blue used on those Rainbow Paramounts is superb (sic). While I like my black '83, I've always wished it was blue.

I don't know but I'd expect that SunTour would have followed the lead of Sugino with its Mighty crankset which was Campy standard. And Sungino continued that with the 75 line.

What are you doing with the silicone?

Looks like it's sealing and maybe holding the recessed nut in place? :foo:

Looks like a fun project. Suntour Superbe stuff on this period correct bike should be fun. Just curious: are there known issues with the components why you want to do such a thorough tear down and rebuild?

Also, just curious - is it you intention to run the gearing friction or indexed?

Using it as locktight. It works good on the small fastners found on a bike. Clean the threads smear some on the threads, assemble doesnt have to be super tight but it will not vibrate loose on its own and easly comes loose with a wrench

No known issues, other than 40 year old grease, and unknown matience. Most of the time they work like new when done.
I will most likley run it in index, The great thing about suntour index if it is giving you a problem shifting just put it in friction

Got it far enough along to take it for a test ride tonight. Only ishue, gona need to swap the brake calipers for the shorter reach ones. The box section rims on the every day wheels had less than 1/2 the pad on the rim. Guess I will try this set on the TX500 Trek. Here is the test ride photo

Cool. If you run with a 7 speed Winner or Winner Pro (with the "4 prong" freewheel body) these are Accushift compatible and should index quite well on your 6/7 speed 126mm spaced frame.
