Did a quick 25 with 1500’. Finally starting to feel like I am getting my legs since I am clobbering my previous PRs.

Just scored a brand new Wahoo Kicker still in the box from a neighbor for 1/2 price so next Spring I should be much farther/further ahead, but I will take what I can get for now.

I hate you all.

I felt pretty proud that I managed to squeeze in a lap of my Short Loop (about 11 miles) three days in a row and today, found time to do almost 18 miles on some other roads. I felt really good .... and then I read this thread.

;)

You're doing great, some of these people must not have anything to do but spend all day pedaling I like a couple hours but after that my mind is thinking about what I need to get done for the day.

Hmm, how is doing 40 miles in 2.4 hours on a weekend, or 23 miles in 1.5 hours on a weeknight, pedaling all day? :foo: Some people are more determined to ride their bikes than others even if it means riding at 9 pm or getting up at 4 am to get in a spin before work.

I am definitely not a 4 am person (do have friends though) but as my entire adulthood, I'd get in my workouts late night after the kids were put to bed. If there is a will, there is a way. :thumb:

I'm not referring to 2.4hrs a day everybody does thats nothing to shout about. I'm referring to 150 miles 3 or 4 times a week seems like a lot of guys do it and they don't do it after the kids go to bed.

So folks may be empty nesters, don't get off into multiple hobbies, have four seasons & only ride 1.5 of those 4. If casting judgement is what makes others tick, then who am I to judge?

I post a lot of 40.50 weekend rides, some midweek 23's as most, but still trying to figure out who the poster was talking about, 150 miles 3 or 4 times per week that "lots of guys do" when I can't find any in the recent month in this thread. Sounds to me like a lack of comprehension.

hmmm I think I now have a personal goal. Toughest part is having mother nature not give birth to childish weather!

Troul 05-19-21 05:05 PM

The miles are much longer when on the trainer. I wish I could have that weather, but it's not in the cards to move anytime soon. Taking care of two handicapped elderly requires a lot of drive*. Especially when there income doesn't even cover the health expenses fully.

15 miles, 800+ elevation gain.

A fit rider can do a century ride in 5 hours or less. So you start at 7:00 AM and finish at noon. Then you have the rest of the day. A less fit person can get it done in 6 or 7 hours, which means 1 or 2 PM. BTDT.

Did a 50 spot with 2700’ climbing and my ancient legs are toast

One short climb was at 12% and then insulted me further going to 16%. Dont know how the pros can sustain on those type of climbs. Brutal

CAT7RDR 05-23-21 04:50 PM

48 miles and 5400 feet of climb in the Puente Hills. 75F and not a cloud in the sky.
