Crank length and the moment you hit the ground in a velodrome
I normaly use 165 cranks on a wooden velodrome track.
The banks there have 43° or 47° degress- Now the most time i am inside on the 47° track. For me is the question, if i stay straight not one degree inside to the center, how much space is there till i knock the ground. Not only the crank length are decide about... the BB drop from my frame and the pedal axle is the nex point. I try to find data in geometry from several frames for track cycling My own frame has only 45 ° DROP Cinelli has 50 ° PlanetX Track Pro has 58 ° Caad Track 10 has 57 ° Look is about 50° So i think if you uses tracks with higher banks 45° plus... You have to look for the BB drop also ... For Sprinters not above 50° and crank length 167,5 A 57° frame with 170mm cranks could you knock out from the ground. What you thing about? |
