That's a sad commentary on people and their conspiracy theories. One of my friends I've known for 50 years just drinks these theories up. Like he'd rather believe some nut job he read on the web over mountains of facts presented from all other sources.

Hey Eric F and/or big john we are coming to Pasadena in a couple days. Before I take on Mt Wilson or Mt Baldy etc., I may need to warm up with an easier ride.

The Pasadena TrekBikes wesbite has several routes suggested and this one looks easy but it's urban so I wonder about traffic. Comments??

Yes. It's the least bad option.

I would never ride that route. The first part heading east on Colorado Blvd. is the main drag across town. It's heavy with cars and stoplights. It leads me to believe that route wasn't created by someone who knows the area. If you're looking for something about that long, with about that much climbing, I can map a better route for you on Strava. Is the Trek store your starting point? It's kind of a rough place to start from.

One another note, I have a personal issue with Pasadena Trek Bikes. This is the corporate-owned Trek dealer. They are new to town, and in direct conflict with Pasadena Cyclery, who has been the local (and loyal) Trek dealer since before I started riding. The corporate store is a kick in the teeth to the family that owns PC.

Thanks for the offer. We are staying in the "Bungalow Heaven" section of Pasadena. I am looking for one route that is "easy" and not too hilly, 30-40 miles for a starter. The second ride I think I already know we are going to try to go up Mt Baldy, not sure if we will stop at the Visitor Center and turn around, or try to go all the way up to the resort, will depend on temps and road conditions and how strong we feel. A friend of mine is coming to ride with me on Thursday and Friday (and possibly Saturday), but then I will be on my own for daily rides, weather permitting, for Sunday-Tuesday.

p.s. if I have any LBS needs, I will be sure to go to/support Pasadena Cyclery

I'm not familiar. My Red eTap batteries are rechargeable though the brain uses a coin cell which I have never replaced in 11,000 miles. I keep thinking about it but never have.
